Job Description
This Food Service Worker position performs a variety of cleaning, maintenance, food preparation, stocking, and serving duties in the Alaska Airlines Lounge storeroom, dining, or serving area.
This position will support daily food service operations at the Alaska Airlines Lounge located inside the Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, AK.
Responsibilities
- Variety of food preparations such as washing, chopping, organizing food items and following recipes.
- Assists cooks and others as needed and coordinates one’s own activities with others.
- Prepare food or cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
- Washes objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
- Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. and places in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.
- Maintains a variety of products at certain levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas including service machines.
- Stocks storage areas with various products.
- Assists with various periodically scheduled large cleaning projects.
- Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least six (6) months of related food service experience.
- Food Handlers Card or ServSafe Certificate contingent upon 30 days of hire.
- The ability to work rotating shifts and varying schedules including holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates.
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Ability to pass SIDA Badge test, which includes an assessment of knowledge related to airport security protocols, access control procedures, and safety regulations in secure and restricted areas.
- Ability to obtain an Alaska AOA Badge. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Successfully pass an FBI fingerprint-based background check.
- Complete and pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA).
- Have no outstanding warrants or be able to provide documentation of their resolution.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. and/or 50 lbs. Frequently to constantly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
