About the role   

An exciting opportunity exists for a Contracts Manager to join our team in Perth. 

Reporting to the General Manager - Mineral Sands Commercial, this influential role is responsible for leading the Category and Contract Management activities for Iluka’s procurement function, operating across a range of contracts including mining, utilities, process chemicals, project procurement, and site and corporate services. 

You will have a particular focus on development and delivery of contracting strategies and managing complex contracts of significant expenditure. Leading a team of procurement professionals, you will partner closely with operational, technical and commercial stakeholders to maximise value, manage commercial risk and support business performance. 

Key responsibilities include:  

• Leading the development, negotiation, execution and management of contracts across the business 

• Developing commercially sound contracting strategies for major contracts 

• Managing contract performance and supporting dispute resolution 

• Ensuring contracting activities are delivered in accordance with company policies, governance requirements and industry best practice 

• Driving continuous improvement across contract management systems, processes and reporting, to improve commercial outcomes, manage risk, and deliver value 

• Leading, mentoring and developing the Contracts and Category Management team 

About you  

To be successful in this role, you will have:  

• Extensive experience leading contract management activities within the mining, resources, industrial or project environment 

• Strategic thinking skills with strong commercial acumen 

• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate and build influential relationships across the business, motivating diverse teams to work towards a common goal 

• Experience developing contracting strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing a broad range of commodity, service and project contracts  

• A passion for leading and developing teams, coupled with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes 

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commercial Law or a related discipline
