Introduction to the Team
The Expedia Group Payments team owns the Common Payment Module (CPM), the shared native library that powers checkout and payment capture across every Expedia Group brand's iOS and Android apps. We build the secure, high-performance foundation that lets travellers save, select, and pay with their preferred payment method, seamlessly and reliably, at the single most business-critical moment in the traveler journey.
We are looking for a native iOS engineer who is excited to contribute to the growth and evolution of the CPM platform by delivering impactful features and infrastructure that delight customers and partners while meeting the rigorous security and compliance bar payments demands. You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where ownership, technical excellence, and innovation are highly valued.

In This Role, You Will:

• Design, develop, and maintain iOS applications using Swift and related Apple frameworks, ensuring performant, reliable, and maintainable mobile experiences.
• Contribute to system design, including API contracts, low-level design, and data modelling for mobile features that integrate with backend services and shared platforms.
• Implement high-quality, testable code by applying engineering best practices in code structure, unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews within an agile development environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple product areas or domains to deliver reusable mobile components and services that can be leveraged across Expedia Group brands.
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve complex issues in production and pre-production environments, contributing to robust monitoring, logging, and operational excellence for iOS applications.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled or AI‑assisted solutions within mobile workflows, including familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
• Professional experience (typically 5+ years) building and shipping native iOS applications using Swift, Xcode, and core iOS frameworks.
• Hands-on experience owning features or services end-to-end within a mobile application, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Solid understanding of mobile system design fundamentals, including API design, data modelling, asynchronous programming, and performance optimization on iOS.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative engineering environment, participating in code reviews, using source control, and following established engineering and operational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing and evolving iOS application architectures (such as MVVM, VIPER, or similar patterns) and contributing to shared mobile platforms or libraries used across multiple teams or product areas.
• Background working with large-scale consumer mobile applications, including performance tuning, offline capabilities, analytics integration, and experimentation to drive data-informed improvements.
• Proven contribution to system and API design in partnership with backend and platform teams, including defining contracts, data schemas, and integration patterns for mobile clients.
• Experience safely integrating and operating AI/ML‑enabled solutions on mobile (for example, AI-assisted search, recommendations, personalization, or content generation), with familiarity using AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows in product development.
• Exposure to or experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, monitoring, and alerting for iOS apps, with a focus on maintaining high reliability and operational excellence.
