About the Role 

Become a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Sr Systems Developer (.NET). This role presents an outstanding opportunity to collaborate with a remarkable team dedicated to the development and implementation of system solutions on custom-developed applications. 

 

Key Responsibilities  

• Ensure adherence to CSLM lifecycle processes, development standards, quality requirements, and relevant tools throughout the application lifecycle. 

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain system components in accordance with business requirements, technical specifications, and coding standards. 

• Write efficient, scalable, maintainable, and high-quality code while following established software engineering best practices. 

• Conduct and participate in code reviews, code refactoring, and continuous improvement activities to enhance system quality and maintainability. 

• Troubleshoot application defects, performance issues, and production incidents using structured problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis techniques. 

• Perform unit, system, and validation testing as required, ensuring solutions meet functional, technical, quality, and compliance expectations. 

• Work closely with Application Managers, business partners, Operations, and other IT teams on application maintenance, support, deployment, and enhancement activities. 

• Analyze existing applications and technology stacks to identify opportunities for modernization, performance improvement, and adoption of newer technologies. 

• Stay current with emerging technologies, including Microsoft Azure, cloud-based architecture, automation, and applied AI capabilities. 

• Support the integration of AI-enabled features such as intelligent workflows, automation, APIs, pre-built AI services, and data-driven insights where appropriate. 

• Review system architecture and application composition, and provide recommendations on system design, database design, scalability, performance, and technical improvements. 

• Prepare, review, and maintain system documentation, including requirements, technical specifications, design documents, test plans, deployment documentation, and user/support manuals. 

• Develop technical effort, cost, and resource estimates and provide input into project planning, dependencies, risks, and implementation activities. 

• Mentor and guide Associate Developers and junior resources through hands-on coaching, code reviews, knowledge sharing, troubleshooting support, and development best practices. 

• Ensure all development, testing, deployment, support, and documentation activities are completed with appropriate quality, security, compliance, and operational readiness. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

• Proficient hands-on experience with C# and the .NET platform, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming and application development principles. 

• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, logic, analysis, and problem-solving techniques. 

• Skilled in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL, including database querying, data manipulation, and understanding of relational database concepts. 

• Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. 

• Familiarity with MVC and DOM concepts, along with exposure to Node.js, AngularJS, and NPM. 

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, source control, deployment practices, and cloud technologies, with exposure to Microsoft Azure preferred. 

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and Azure DevOps for planning, development, testing, and delivery activities. 

• Exposure to AI and Machine Learning concepts and their application within enterprise systems. 

• Familiarity with integrating AI services and APIs, such as Azure AI/Cognitive Services, OpenAI APIs, or comparable technologies, is preferred. 

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions. 

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy and quality while managing multiple tasks and priorities. 

• Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize work, and manage competing responsibilities in a dynamic environment. 

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused and service-oriented approach. 

• Proven ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, build effective working relationships, and contribute to shared objectives. 

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new technologies, adapt to evolving technical environments, and continuously improve technical capabilities. 

Education/Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (BE, B Tech, ME, M Tech, BCA/MCA, BSC/M Sc)  

• 6-8 years of experience in systems development, implementation, and support roles with the required technologies
