The role combines finance transformation, GBS performance, and internal consulting, and is ideal for a self-motivated professional with a background in finance, consulting, strategy, transformation, or business operations who wants to influence senior decision-making and help shape how Chevron delivers scalable, efficient, and insight-driven services.
The Senior Analyst, Finance GBS Strategy & Performance will serve as a strategic thought partner and internal consultant to Finance GBS and broader GBS leadership. The role will support high-impact initiatives that improve performance, strengthen end-to-end processes, enhance decision-making, and advance transformation across Finance GBS and cross-functional GBS organizations.
This individual will work with leaders and stakeholders across Finance, Global Process Owners, Finance Technology, HR, Supply Chain, IT, Downstream, and other enterprise organizations to identify opportunities, evaluate options, align stakeholders, and move initiatives from insight to execution. The role requires strong analytical capability, business judgment, executive communication, and the ability to create structure and drive outcomes when priorities, ownership, or solutions are not fully defined.
The successful candidate will bring a consulting-style approach to problem solving, the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations, and the communication skills to tell a compelling business story for senior and executive audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Finance GBS and broader GBS leaders to translate strategic priorities into structured analyses, executive-ready recommendations, and actionable plans.
- Lead complex analyses across financial, operational, process, workforce, benchmarking, and performance data to identify insights, risks, value drivers, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop compelling executive presentations, business cases, decision materials, dashboards, and value narratives that convert complex information into clear recommendations.
- Serve as an internal consultant on Finance GBS and cross-functional GBS performance, transformation, operating model, and end-to-end process improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate alignment across Finance, Global Process Owners, HR, Supply Chain, IT, Downstream, and other stakeholders to advance priorities where objectives, ownership, or solutions may not be fully defined.
- Support GBS performance management and value tracking, including KPIs, scorecards, benchmarking insights, leadership updates, and governance materials.
- Identify and help advance opportunities to improve processes, simplify work, strengthen controls, scale digital and analytical capabilities, and deliver measurable business value.
- Drive follow-through from recommendation to execution by clarifying actions, tracking progress, surfacing risks, and supporting implementation of agreed solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 5 or more years of progressive experience in finance, consulting, strategy, business transformation, shared services, business operations, performance management, or a related discipline.
- Strong financial and business acumen, with the ability to connect financial, operational, process, and organizational drivers.
- Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous problems, analyze complex data, synthesize insights, and develop practical recommendations.
- Excellent executive communication skills, including the ability to build clear storylines, high-quality presentations, and decision-ready materials.
- Proven ability to influence without direct authority and gain alignment across functions, levels, and stakeholder groups.
- Experience supporting or leading cross-functional initiatives, transformation efforts, performance improvement work, or strategic projects.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with experience using data visualization, reporting, or analytics tools.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of finance, consulting, strategy, transformation, or business operations experience and has demonstrated success working on complex, cross-functional initiatives.
