A growing organization in Canada is seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to help drive its next stage of growth. This is an opportunity for a strategic, relationship-focused leader who can identify new opportunities, build strong partnerships, and turn market insights into sustainable business results.

The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding the organization’s market presence while working closely with internal teams to develop compelling solutions for clients and partners. The position is full-time, on-site in Canada, with travel required from time to time for client meetings, industry events, and business development activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities while developing strategies that support long-term organizational growth.
• Build and strengthen relationships with prospective and existing clients, strategic partners, and other key stakeholders.
• Prepare proposals, presentations, and other business development materials that effectively communicate the organization’s value proposition.
• Research market conditions, assess industry developments, and use emerging trends to inform growth strategies and service offerings.
• Manage the business development pipeline, from opportunity identification through negotiation and contract completion.
• Establish revenue and growth objectives, monitor results, and use performance data to guide business development activities.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to coordinate projects and bring new opportunities from initial concept through execution.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their development and overall effectiveness.
• Represent the organization professionally at industry events, client meetings, and other relevant business forums.

What You Bring

• Several years of experience in business development, sales, strategic partnerships, or a closely related field.
• A demonstrated ability to uncover market opportunities, build practical growth plans, and successfully navigate complex business deals.
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and overseeing projects through planning, implementation, and completion.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to use data and insights to support sound business decisions.
• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related discipline; a graduate degree would be considered an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in an on-site Canadian environment and travel as required for business meetings and industry engagements.
• A history of delivering against revenue or growth objectives, supported by strong planning, organization, and time-management skills.
