Description

Program & Alliance Manager

New Haven, CT | On-site / Hybrid

About Bexorg

Bexorg is a precision neurology company working to improve how new medicines for central nervous system (CNS) diseases are discovered and developed.

Our team sits at the intersection of cutting-edge neuroscience, AI, engineering, and translational drug development. This work requires scientific rigor, responsible stewardship, and close collaboration across disciplines.

We are looking for people who are curious, accountable, and ready to tackle unique challenges. At Bexorg, you will work alongside colleagues who ask thoughtful questions, share ideas openly, and take ownership for moving complex work forward. Whether your background is in neuroscience, biology, engineering, data science, or operations, you can help build a stronger foundation for decisions that shape new CNS medicines.

The Role

Bexorg is seeking a Program & Alliance Manager to lead the integrated planning and execution of cross-functional R&D programs. This role will ensure that scientific, operational, data, and external workstreams come together against clear milestones, budgets, and commitments.

Bexorg programs span multiple functions and may move from a scientific question or partner objective through human-brain studies, sample generation, internal and external assays, data integration, and final scientific delivery. The Program & Alliance Manager will serve as the connective tissue across these activities, driving alignment, visibility, risk management, and delivery.

The role will also manage the external partners, CROs, and alliances associated with assigned programs. Functional leaders remain accountable for execution within their areas; this role owns the integrated program and ensures that the full chain comes together successfully.

This is an execution and accountability role, not simply a meeting-management role. Success requires knowing what was committed, what must happen next, who owns each action, where risks or dependencies exist, and whether the final scientific and data deliverables have been completed.

What You Will Own

Integrated Program Leadership

  • Own integrated program plans for assigned R&D programs, including milestones, timelines, dependencies, deliverables, decision points, resource requirements, and budgets.
  • Translate scientific objectives into executable plans spanning cohort and study requirements, BrainEx execution, sample needs, assays, data outputs, quality control, analysis, and final delivery.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across Drug Discovery, Tissue Procurement, Platform Operations, Brain Bank, Quality, Data/AI, Finance, and other functions as appropriate.
  • Establish clear workstream ownership, commitments, and acceptance criteria while ensuring functional leaders retain responsibility for execution within their respective areas.
  • Maintain alignment among the study plan, experiments performed, samples generated and consumed, external assays, data produced, and final deliverables.
  • Proactively identify program risks, bottlenecks, and cross-functional dependencies; facilitate resolution and escalate issues or decisions when necessary to maintain progress.
  • Track program performance against plan, including timelines, scientific and data milestones, sample use, budget, and external spend.
  • Lead decision-oriented program reviews and provide concise executive visibility into program health, risks, decisions, and upcoming milestones.

Alliance & External Partner Management

  • Serve as the primary program-management interface for pharma, biotech, academic, and strategic partners associated with assigned programs.
  • Translate collaboration agreements and scientific commitments into practical operating plans, governance, deliverables, timelines, responsibilities, and decision points.
  • Integrate CROs and specialized research vendors supporting assigned programs, aligning scope, timelines, sample logistics, quality expectations, data return, cost, and issue resolution with program objectives.
  • Maintain clear records of decisions, commitments, risks, scope changes, and follow-up actions, and coordinate internally before new commitments are made externally.
  • Build trusted partner relationships through transparent communication, effective governance, timely issue resolution, and consistent follow-through.

Program Management Infrastructure

  • Develop and continuously improve scalable program-management tools, templates, dashboards, governance, and operating rhythms appropriate for Bexorg's stage of growth.
  • Establish consistent approaches to planning, reporting, risk and decision tracking, change control, and cross-functional communication.
  • Improve traceability from scientific request through experiment, sample, assay, data, and final deliverable while bringing structure to ambiguity without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in program management, alliance management, R&D operations, or a related role within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or another complex scientific environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional programs involving multiple scientific and operational workstreams, dependencies, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of drug-discovery and development workflows; experience with human tissue, translational research, genomics, multi-omics, or complex biological datasets is especially valuable.
  • Scientific fluency and experience working directly with scientists and technical teams, with the ability to understand requests, identify dependencies, and ask the right questions.
  • Experience managing external collaborators, CROs, research vendors, or other outsourced technical work.
  • Strong program-management discipline across planning, budgeting, risk management, change control, decision tracking, and executive reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability and execution across senior cross-functional stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
  • Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining focus on the broader scientific and business objective.
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills and the judgment to work effectively with scientists, operators, external partners, and senior leadership.
  • High ownership and comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where processes are still being built and roles may cross conventional organizational boundaries.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced scientific degree, MBA, or equivalent experience preferred.

Particularly Valuable Experience

  • Human biospecimens, biobanking, tissue procurement, or tissue-based research platforms.
  • CNS or neuroscience drug discovery.
  • Translational biology, multi-omics, genomics, or biomarker programs.
  • Pharma or biotech alliance management and collaborative R&D programs.

Bexorg, Inc. is committed to equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination for all employees and applicants.
