Backend Developer Intern

ParetoLabs is looking for a motivated and passionate **Backend Developer Intern** with an interest in DevOps methodologies to join our growing team.

As part of our dynamic team, you will contribute to the backend systems that power our AI-driven applications. You will gain hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying software solutions for clients across a wide range of industries.

## Tasks

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of modern AI applications, including LLM-powered agents and copilots.
• Support the improvement and automation of our build, deployment, testing, and monitoring processes.
• Help design, implement, and operate reliable production and development environments.
• Collaborate closely with our multicultural team, sharing your ideas and learning from experienced colleagues.
• Take ownership of defined tasks and bring your own ideas to projects with real-world impact.

## Requirements

• **Educational Background:** Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• **Python Development:** Practical experience with Python through university, personal, or professional projects. Familiarity with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django is an advantage.
• **API Development:** Basic experience designing, developing, testing, and documenting REST APIs, including authentication, error handling, and integration with external services.
• **Cloud Technologies:** Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or a strong interest in learning how backend applications are deployed, operated, and monitored in the cloud.
• **DevOps Fundamentals:** Initial experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, automated testing, and deployment workflows.
• **Databases:** Basic knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases, data modelling, and integrating databases into backend applications.
• **Technical Foundation:** A good understanding of software architecture, networking fundamentals, application security, logging, and monitoring.
• **Problem-Solving Skills:** A curious, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and take ownership of defined tasks.
• **Teamwork:** An open-minded team player who enjoys collaborating in a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment.
• **Communication Skills:** Good communication skills in English or German and the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and project stakeholders.
