POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health is seeking a highly motivated Student Research Assistant to assist in course-related research and educational projects. The incumbent will participate in the preparation and compilation of discussion exercises, statistical programming materials, and supporting documentation, assist with the analysis and interpretation of statistical content and research data, and perform various administrative tasks related to the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Research Supervisor, assist in the development of discussion exercises and supporting educational materials for biostatistics courses, following established course objectives, protocols, and procedures.
Participate in the preparation of course-related materials, including discussion exercises, solution keys, statistical programming code, and supporting documentation.
Assist with the analysis and interpretation of statistical concepts and research data to ensure exercises and solutions are technically accurate and pedagogically sound.
Participate in the review and revision of exercises, solutions, and code based on feedback from the course director and evolving course requirements, keeping materials pedagogically sound and technically accurate as the course evolves.
Perform various administrative and project-related tasks, including organizing course materials, maintaining documentation, and supporting the development of instructional resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current McGill graduate student.
Graduate-level training in Biostatistics, Statistics, Public Health, Data Science, or a related field.
At least one year of experience in biostatistics, statistical programming in R, or applied health data analysis.
Strong proficiency with R, RStudio, and R Markdown, with experience working with real-world health datasets.
Excellent written communication skills in English, as all discussion exercises, solution documents, and code documentation must be produced and delivered in English.
Experience developing educational or teaching materials, tutoring, or instructional experience.
