Overview
knowledgeable about the school’s values, culture, and educational goals and objectives. Become a departmental education leader. Serves as the chair’s spokesperson regarding education matters with the medical school, an effective working relationship. Trained as education leaders or teachers. Required to have periodic meetings during which experienced Clerkship Directors from other specialties and associate dean may serve as a mentor. Clerkship Directors coordinates student’s education as their major job responsibility and remain at their posts for many years.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of BronxCare Health System and its employees.
- Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams, consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the BronxCare Health System (a) Safety and Security Policies, (b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting, (c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and (d) Patient and Customer Service.
- Planning and organization of orientation and activities for medical students. Assessing the educational value of clinical and didactic activities.
- Serves as a link between students and the faculty and residents. Collaborate with residents and residency program directors. Participate in presentations to residents on how to teach medical students.
- Meets regularly with students, both as a group and individuals. Meets with Students to help to identify problem.
- Development of conferences and institution and or department level trainings.
- Creates a rotation curriculum that complements the school’s pre-clinical and overall clinical curriculum; coordinates resident and faculty teaching of students and assume responsibility for evaluation of student performance. Serve as mentor to students who are interested in conducting educational research.

• NYS Medical License ( Physician)
