Description
A strong seed Quality control process begins with accurate field testing, evaluation, and reporting of varietal characteristics across different crop stages. Reliable Grow-Out Test (GOT) results are essential to safeguarding the genetic purity, varietal integrity, and overall quality of Enza Zaden's seed portfolio.
As a Field Grow-Out Test Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering accurate field observations and test results that support informed decision-making across seed quality and production processes.
Make a difference as a Field Grow-Out Test Specialist
As a Field Grow-Out Test Specialist, you will be responsible for planning and executing Grow-Out Tests (GOT), coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors, conducting field inspections, and ensuring accurate evaluation and reporting of varietal characteristics. You will work closely with the Sampling, Production, and Quality teams to maintain the highest quality standards across our seed portfolio.
In this role, your work will include:
Ensuring timely execution of Grow-Out Tests (GOT) in accordance with established processes and quality standards.
Coordinating the timely receipt and sowing of seed samples through effective collaboration with Sampling and other Quality teams.
Guiding vendors on standard agronomic practices, crop protection, and FGOT execution to ensure reliable trait expression and accurate test results.
Monitoring vendor field operations through regular field visits and following up on deviations and non-conformities.
Conducting field observations, recording varietal characteristics using crop-specific descriptors, and evaluating genetic purity, off-types, and selfs.
Preparing accurate inspection reports, records, recommendations, and test results within required timelines.
Ensuring all GOT activities are completed in compliance with company SOPs, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
What you bring as our future colleague
As a Field Grow-Out Test Specialist, you bring strong technical knowledge of vegetable crops, field evaluation skills, and a passion for Quality control. You are detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of working independently while effectively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
In addition, you possess the following:
Educational background in Agriculture.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in Field Grow-Out Tests (FGOT) in vegetable crops.
Knowledge of crops and their important varietal traits.
Knowledge of crop nutrition, crop management, and disease management practices.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work independently and efficiently during peak workload periods
Willingness to work in Central / South India.
