[What the role is]
The Singapore Food Agency's mission is to ensure and secure a supply of safe food for Singapore. The Digital Technology & Transformation Division (DTT) drives SFA's digital transformation through the master-planning and development of data-driven digital systems and organisational digital capabilities, while ensuring resilience against evolving cyberthreats through clear policies, strong governance, and proactive digital risk management. The candidate will work in the Data Governance and Transformation Department (DGT) under DTT. DGT drives SFA’s transformation into a data-driven organisation through establishing clear data policy and governance, developing data standards, and uplifting data competencies. Develops enterprise data platform, building visualisation dashboard and analytical tools to accelerate data exploitation.[What you will be working on]
· Plan, implement and review SFA’s data policy and governance framework to strengthen the management of SFA’s data across its life cycle to ensure relevancy and currency, aligned with IM8 guidelines and SFA’s requirements.
· Project manage key data-related projects – from conceptualisation, gathering of user requirements to development of next-generation enterprise-wide data architecture (e.g. Enterprise Data Lake) for SFA
· Conceptualise and operationalise data and research initiatives to derive and triangulate datasets from various sources to distil useful insights to address SFA’s key challenges (both policy and operational perspectives).
· Lead team of data analysts to identify, implement and manage cross-divisional data projects (i.e. qualitative, quantitative) and ensure data is harmonised, clean and ready for data discovery needed for data-driven decisions.
· Propose and build tech enablers for data research and projects in areas including but not limited to data provisioning, storage to analytics, exploitation and visualisation.
· Catalyse, facilitate and track SFA’s transformation initiatives such as roll-out of Robotic Process Automation (RPA), implementation of service journeys and WOG indices.
· Build and upskill the capabilities of data analysts/engineers within SFA (both within team and across divisions).

The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on data leader who can bridge policy, operations, technology and analytics. They should be comfortable engaging senior stakeholders, translating complex business needs into data solutions, leading multidisciplinary initiatives, and building confidence in data-driven ways of working across the organisation.
Experience & Qualifications
· Strong background in data science and analytics, data engineering, or related fields.
· Experience leading or conducting complex analytics, statistical studies or evidence-based policy analysis.
· Experience translating data into actionable insights for senior management and policy decision-making.
· Experience working with enterprise data platforms and data management initiatives.
· Experience in public sector or regulatory environments is an advantage.
· Proven track record in managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
