Turn Your Manufacturing Experience Into an Opportunity to Develop Others
Are you the person coworkers turn to when they need help understanding a process, solving a problem, or learning the right way to get the job done?
As a Technical Manufacturing Trainer, you’ll take your hands-on manufacturing experience and use it to help others build the skills they need to succeed. You’ll train team members in areas such as welding, fabrication, mechanical assembly, electrical systems, high-voltage safety, and HVAC/pre-conditioned air systems.
YOUR IMPACT
In this role, you will:
Train and coach team members on technical manufacturing skills, including welding, fabrication, assembly, electrical, and related production processes.
Turn your hands-on experience into practical training that team members can apply on the job.
Demonstrate the safe and proper use of manufacturing tools and equipment, including welding equipment, torque tools, cranes, measuring tools, and testing devices.
Teach team members how to read and follow prints, schematics, weld symbols, standard work instructions, and other technical documentation.
Support training related to HVAC and pre-conditioned air systems, including mechanical, electrical, and brazing processes.
Facilitate Level 1 and Level 2 high-voltage safety training.
Coach team members on quality expectations, inspection techniques, troubleshooting, and identifying manufacturing discrepancies.
Create hands-on, written, online, and LIVE manufacturing training.
Develop training aids, props, demonstrations, and other creative learning tools that make technical concepts easier to understand.
Identify skill gaps through Training Needs and Task Analyses and develop solutions using the ADDIE training model.
Teach team members how to navigate manufacturing and technical systems such as JDE2, Pierce Truck Builder, and ProPlanner.
Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint).
Partner with production employees, subject matter experts, other trainers, and leadership to continuously improve training.
Help build a manufacturing culture focused on safety, quality, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
Work a flexible schedule when needed to support team members across multiple shifts.
Ability to work unsupervised and with leadership remotely
CWI or willingness to obtain CWI
WHAT YOU BRING
High school diploma or GED.
Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, welding, fabrication, assembly, electrical, HVAC, or a related technical field.
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
Ability to explain technical processes in a clear, practical way.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, prints, or work instructions.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
A willingness to learn new products, processes, technologies, and training methods.
Ability to travel up to 20%.
EXPERIENCE THAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT
You don't need to check every box. Experience in one or more of these areas can help you succeed in this role:
Training, mentoring, coaching, or teaching others in a manufacturing or skilled-trades environment.
MIG or TIG welding of aluminum and steel, including pulse-spray welding.
Mechanical or vehicle assembly.
HVAC, refrigeration, brazing, or pre-conditioned air systems.
Electrical systems or high-voltage vehicle technology.
Reading weld prints, symbols, schematics, blueprints, or 3D models.
Developing technical training, work instructions, or hands-on learning activities.
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
Manufacturing software or digital work-instruction systems.
EPA Section 608 Certification or willingness to obtain it.
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or willingness to obtain it.
Experience with Pierce products, Pierce Truck Builder, ProPlanner, JDE2, or Volterra systems.
WHY THIS ROLE?
This is an opportunity to take the skills you’ve built throughout your manufacturing career and multiply their impact.
Instead of only building the product, you’ll help build the people who build it.
If you enjoy working with your hands, solving technical problems, sharing what you know, and watching others succeed because of something you taught them, .
