Responsibilities

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

 

  • Analyzes markups, sketches, notes, and other project information to develop and revise electrical design documents in Revit, under the direction of higher-level designers and engineers.
  • Applies design fundamentals to complete electrical systems or subsystems.
  • Performs a variety of routine design assignments, with increasing responsibility, under the direction of Senior Designers or Senior Engineers. The level of supervision and review will vary based on demonstrated skills and project needs.
  • Supports the preparation of electrical design deliverables, which may include floor plans, device layouts, pathway plans, one-line diagrams, details, schedules, and installation
  • Works from both own designs and designs of others; compiles data and performs routine design computations to support engineering and project requirements.
  • Researches design options and documents findings for project engineer/architect.
  • Checks assigned design calculations and drawings, with responsibility increasing based on demonstrated capability, experience, and project needs.
  • Coordinates assigned work with electrical, architectural, mechanical, structural, and other project disciplines to help identify and resolve design conflicts.
  • May coordinate and guide the work of other designers within the electrical discipline and support coordination with other project disciplines, based on demonstrated capability, experience, and project needs.
  • Incorporates review comments, redlines, and revisions accurately and promptly.
  • Reviews work for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project standards before submitting it for review.
  • Maintains working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards and studies non-routine code issues with guidance from senior team members.
  • Assists with identifying and solving design problems but is expected to seek assistance from more experienced designers and engineers when needed.
  • Maintains organized project files and supports documentation, coordination, and quality-control activities throughout the design process.
  • Participates in project coordination meetings, design reviews, and internal training opportunities as assigned.

Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor´s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience and demonstrate increased design judgment, experience checking drawings and design calculations, multidisciplinary coordination, and the ability to guide the work of other designers.
  • Prior experience as an electrical designer focused on large-scale industrial facilities.
  • Experience with low- and medium-voltage systems (facilities).
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: lighting, power distribution, device layouts, pathway plans, riser diagrams, one-line diagrams, Revit/BIM modeling, AutoCAD, routine design calculations, specifications, shop drawings, and construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Advanced English level
