Your Opportunity
The Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (D365 F&O) Presales Solution Architect is responsible for leading the solution strategy, architecture, and positioning of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM during the sales lifecycle.
The role works closely with clients, functional and technical SMEs, project sponsors, Microsoft, and delivery teams to understand business challenges, define the future-state solution, demonstrate business value, develop implementation approaches, and create compelling proposals that can successfully transition into delivery. This is a new role and can be located anywhere in Canada, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
Presales & Solution Strategy
Lead D365 F&SCM solutioning activities throughout the opportunity lifecycle, from qualification and discovery through proposal, presentation, and contracting.
Conduct discovery sessions to understand client objectives, pain points, processes, technology landscape, and transformation priorities.
Translate client requirements into a clear future-state solution architecture and transformation roadmap.
Identify opportunities to simplify processes and maximize adoption of Microsoft standard capabilities.
Develop differentiated solution strategies that clearly communicate business outcomes and value.
Lead or contribute to RFP/RFI responses and proposal development.
Develop solution architecture diagrams, business process flows, implementation approaches and scope definitions.
D365 F&O Solution Architecture
Design end-to-end business processes within D365 F&SCM.
Define integration approaches between D365 and client applications using appropriate integration middleware.
Evaluate functional and technical requirements and identify potential gaps requiring configuration, extensions, integrations, or process changes.
Demonstrations & Client Presentations
Develop and deliver compelling D365 F&SCM demonstrations tailored to client business scenarios.
Present proposed solutions and architecture to both executive and technical audiences.
Facilitate workshops, solution envisioning sessions, whiteboarding sessions, and proof-of-concept activities.
Transition to Delivery
Ensure a structured handoff from presales into implementation.
Clearly document solution scope, architecture, assumptions, estimates, risks, and commitments made during the sales process.
Conduct solution handover sessions with delivery leadership and project teams.
Remain engaged during project initiation when necessary to ensure alignment between the sold solution and delivery approach.
Required Qualifications
Approximately 8+ years of experience with ERP implementations, enterprise applications, or business transformation programs.
Approximately 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations / Dynamics AX.
Strong understanding of multiple D365 F&SCM functional areas, with deep expertise in at least one or two major domains.
Experience designing end-to-end D365 solutions involving multiple modules and integrations.
Previous experience in presales, solution architecture or solution design.
Demonstrated ability to lead discovery workshops and translate business requirements into solution architecture.
Strong presentation, communication, facilitation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications, particularly in Solution Architecture.
Experience responding to complex enterprise RFPs.
Experience with large-scale ERP transformation and multi-entity/global D365 implementations.
Understanding of Microsoft's Success by Design implementation framework.
