Maintenance TechnicianJob Description
Location: White, Georgia
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Job Summary: In this role you will be responsible for performing maintenance on our production equipment and ensuring that the machines are working properly. You may also support improvement projects throughout the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily assigned maintenance tasks that are scheduled through maintenance software (MaintainX)
- Perform Preventive Maintenance on the Laser, Press Brakes, Weld areas, Paint line, Cranes and other equipment as required
- Identify Safety Hazards in different areas and develop a solution to eliminate the risk
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) as required
- Maintain the inventory of spare parts, and ensure that we have the necessary parts on hand
- Work with the manufacturing engineering team to Implement lean manufacturing solutions on the shop floor
- Use technical expertise to assist with mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues in production equipment
- Lead root cause investigations for mechanical failures or process bottlenecks, implementing corrective actions that prevent future occurrences.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks, equipment repair processes, and preventive maintenance schedules to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Train other operators on maintenance tasks that they can easily do throughout the day
- Contact 3rd party maintenance companies when extra help is needed, and the repair is beyond ability to fix
- Interact with and update maintenance scheduling program (MaintainX)
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required; Trade Certification, Associate’s (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance) preferred.
Experience:
2+ years of hands-on experience in skilled trades (e.g., mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, automotive) within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Schedule:
Flexibility is important to support our production operations. Long weeks and Saturday work is common.
General Maintenance Schedule: 6am to 3pm, Monday through Friday.
Standard production schedule: 5am to 3:30pm, Monday through Thursday
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The work environment/physical requirements described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Employee will be working in an warehouse/manufacturing environment. Temperature can vary: cold temperatures of 40 degrees, and will be required to wear jacket or warm/hot temperature of 70+ degrees. Noise levels of 90 decibels can be reached at certain times. Can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles while in manufacturing environment.
- Required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects, and do repetitive tasks with few breaks
- Knowledge and utilization of PPE (i.e., safety glasses, gloves, etc.) is required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.
- Operate and maintain equipment and measurement instruments.
