Performs welding and fabrication work to support the production of pump skids, energy-recovery systems, and HVAC components. Responsible for safe welding practices, quality workmanship, accurate assembly, and meeting production timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on structural steel, tubing, and components.
• Fit, tack, align, and weld assemblies to specification.
• Inspect welds for proper penetration, bead quality, and dimensional accuracy.
• Operate fabrication equipment, grinders, saws, clamps, and hand tools.
• Complete in-process quality documentation as required.
• Maintain welding equipment and report needed repairs.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Record time and work performed in production systems.
• Assist fabrication staff as needed to support workflow.

 

Qualifications

• Required

o    AWS welding certification (active and maintained).

o    Minimum 3 years fabrication experience and at least 2 years welding experience.

o    Ability to read and interpret tape measures, fractions, decimal equivalents, and basic prints.

o    Demonstrated ability to weld safely, consistently, and with minimal rework.

o    Reliable attendance and commitment to quality and safety.

• Preferred

o    High school diploma or GED.

o    Experience welding skid frames, HVAC mechanical assemblies, or structural components.

o    Forklift or overhead crane experience (training provided if needed).

o    Familiarity with welding procedure specifications and inspection criteria.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull for most of the shift.
• Lift and handle 20–50 lbs repeatedly.
• Use hands, wrists, and upper body for welding and tool operation.
• Tolerate loud noise, heat, sparks, fumes, and fluctuating temperatures.

 

Work Environment

• Manufacturing production floor with moving machinery, fabrication equipment, and forklifts.
• Exposure to welding arc flash, metal particulates, noise, and vibration.
• Safety glasses, welding hood, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes required.
