Job Summary

Interns are responsible for actively participating in HCSC’s formal internship program that leverages your skills, knowledge, and capabilities while providing meaningful experience supporting business objectives and member-focused solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams in both business and technical areas, the Intern will contribute to project work, analyze information, and support the development of solutions that address organizational needs. The Intern is responsible for learning and applying specific aspects of the organization's processes, programs, and technologies while demonstrating increasing independence and ownership of assigned deliverables.

What Are Your Responsibilities?
IT QA Interns are responsible for actively participating in HCSC’s formal internship program that leverages your skills, knowledge, and capabilities while providing meaningful experience supporting business objectives and member-focused solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams in both business and technical areas, the IT QA Intern will contribute to project work, analyze information, and support the development of solutions that address organizational needs. The IT QA Intern is responsible for learning and applying specific aspects of the organization's processes, programs, and technologies while demonstrating increasing independence and ownership of assigned deliverables.

 

This role will also need to:

• Own components of project work and deliverables with guidance from an assigned mentor and manager. 
• Conduct research, analyze data and information, and develop recommendations that inform real business decisions. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
• Support departmental initiatives that improve business outcomes and the member and client experience. 
• Develop and deliver a final internship presentation to department leadership covering the project, results, and recommendations. 
• Maintain complete confidentiality of company business and comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, and applicable compliance policies. 

 

What Do You Need To Be Successful? 

• Prior related technical internship or work experience is a plus.  
• Volunteerism or leadership experience is a plus.
• Involvement in IT related Associations/Organizations or participation in relevant technical competitions is a plus.  
• Interest in the healthcare payer industry or beginning a career in IT.
• Eagerness to learn, grow and contribute. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and an ability to grasp new and unfamiliar concepts. 
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize and support multiple projects. 

 

What Are the Requirements You Must Meet?

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree; rising senior with a major in information technology, information systems, cybersecurity, project management or computer science. Other majors may be considered.
• Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028 
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0. 
• Available for the full duration of the 10-week program. 
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this role.

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job-related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.

Flex employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days a week. Management will have discretion to modify an employee's weekly schedule for exigent circumstances.

Base Pay Range

$19.13 - $34.17

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
