Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) – Generalist / Blood Bank
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) to join our clinical laboratory team. In this role, you will perform a wide range of standardized diagnostic laboratory procedures across hematology, chemistry, and blood bank departments. You will operate complex laboratory equipment, maintain rigorous quality control, process transfusions, and deliver accurate test results to aid healthcare providers in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Laboratory Testing: Perform routine and complex clinical laboratory procedures according to standardized methodologies using automated analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, and other specialized equipment.
- Immunohematology & Blood Banking: Conduct blood grouping, typing, and crossmatching/compatibility testing to prepare blood, plasma, and platelets safely for transfusions.
- Hematology & Microscopy: Analyze blood cells using microscopic techniques and manual cell differential procedures to accurately identify cell counts and morphology.
- Quality Control & Equipment Maintenance: Ensure exact test accuracy by running daily standards and controls. Calibrate equipment, perform routine preventative maintenance, and execute advanced QC troubleshooting.
- Data Management & Inventory: Document and summarize technological findings, generate patient diagnostic reports, maintain equipment logs, and manage clinical supplies inventory.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Clinical Experience: Minimum 2+ years of recent Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) experience [Required].
- Specialty Experience: Recent, hands-on experience in a clinical Blood Bank setting [Required].
- Certification: Active Medical Laboratory Technician / Technologist Certification via ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) [Required].
- Core Competencies: Strong technical background in clinical analyzer calibration, hematology microscopy, transfusion medicine, and strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols.
