DEPARTMENT: OPERATIONS
REPORTS TO: MEMBERSHIP & FITNESS DIRECTOR
STATUS: PART-TIME (NON-EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Child Watch Team Member is responsible for the safety and supervision of children while their parents are participating in on-site recreation activities/classes at Romulus Athletic Center.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Directly align with the venue's Mission Statement and Core Values
- Plan and execute age-appropriate activities
- Clearly and effectively communicate with parents, children, and Team Members
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children
- Supervise and engage children in educational and recreational activities
- Communicate with parents regarding their child's wellbeing
- Maintain a clean and organized childcare environment
- Report all accidents, safety hazards, or conflicts to your supervisor immediately
- Additional tasks assigned by management
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- Previous experience working with children
- Experience and success in customer service
- Proven problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Action-oriented personality
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situations
- Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of others
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
- Will be required to operate a computer
- Facility has intermittent noise
