Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service while developing a rewarding professional career? We're looking for a Graduate Building Surveyor to join our Building Consultancy Division.

This is an exciting opportunity to begin your journey towards becoming a Chartered Surveyor with one of the industry's leading property and insurance specialists. You'll join our highly successful team of home-based surveyors, with occasional attendance at your local regional office. Working alongside senior members of the team, the role will focus on your development through a combination of structured learning and hands-on experience.

Our Building Consultancy Division provides a full range of surveying services to clients, including investigating and reporting on building defects, designing and procuring repairs, and managing repair projects for domestic and commercial properties. The projects we oversee range from tens of thousands to millions of pounds in value and often arise following insured events such as fires, flooding, escape of water incidents, and vehicle impacts.

Working alongside experienced surveyors and senior leaders, you'll receive structured training and professional development, helping you build the technical, commercial, and customer-facing skills needed to succeed in a varied and rewarding career. We'll support you through the RICS APC pathway, helping you achieve Chartered Surveyor status while developing the wider skills needed for a long-term career with Sedgwick.

You'll gain exposure to a wide range of surveying activities, regularly engaging with policyholders, loss adjusters, contractors, insurers, and other stakeholders. As many of our customers are dealing with challenging and often life-changing situations, you'll play an important role in providing expert guidance alongside exceptional customer service.

If you're looking for a role that offers genuine career development, professional support, and the opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.

The skills you will have when you apply:

  • A 2:1 degree or above in a building construction-related subject
  • A genuine desire to develop a career as a Chartered Surveyor
  • The ability to empathise with customers experiencing challenging and often life-altering situations
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment

What we'll give you for this role:

Remuneration & more

  • Competitive salary taking into account skills, experience and qualifications

  • Company car

  • A Self Invested Personal Pension Scheme (SIPP)

  • Holiday allowance of 25 days plus bank holidays

  • Flexible working from our office or your home

Health & support

  • Private healthcare scheme

  • Life assurance

  • Employee assistance programme for employee wellbeing

  • Wellbeing and digital GP apps

  • Group Income Protection

Other benefits

  • Voluntary benefits, including dental cover, cycle to work scheme and season ticket loan

  • Discounts on various products and services

This isn't just a job, it's the start of your professional career

At Sedgwick, you'll have the opportunity to learn from industry-leading experts while gaining practical experience across a diverse range of surveying projects.

Alongside full support through your RICS APC qualification, you'll benefit from continuous learning opportunities through our industry-leading development programmes, helping you build the technical expertise, commercial awareness, and customer service skills needed for long-term success.

You'll be joining a business where people are encouraged to grow, develop, and make a meaningful difference to the lives of customers when they need support the most.
