Responsibilities & Qualifications
Novelis Manufacturing Excellence team is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Performance & Services. This position may be based at either our Kennesaw, Georgia, or Buckhead, Georgia location. The Director of Manufacturing Performance and Services leads the standards, routines, governance, and transparency that enable Novelis operations to steer performance consistently at scale. The role integrates operational efficiency governance, CapEx management, the manufacturing operating agenda, standards and knowledge management, and operations performance management into one accountable department that converts plant-level data into enterprise decisions and delivered results. Partnering with cross functional teams, the Director ensures lean governance frameworks, portfolio quality, credible metrics against targets, and disciplined follow-through on the initiatives that drive Novelis' manufacturing excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead operational efficiency governance, including the FY28 $250M operating cost savings portfolio, guardrails, prioritization, savings reporting, workflow management, tool adoption, and accountability for delivered business impact.
- Provide a unified view of global operational performance by integrating KPIs, FP&A reporting, analytics, global performance reviews, reporting automation, trend insights, and validated asset targets.
- Oversee the 5-Year Novelis CapEx planning process, Corporate Sponsored CapEx tracking, spend transparency, project quality controls, stage gate rigor, and early equipment management standards.
- Lead Novelis Operations Enterprise Risk Management, including plant-level risk visibility, mitigation routines, and enterprise-level reporting.
- Administer the Novelis Manufacturing Council, including routines, follow-ups, decision cadence, and alignment to operational priorities.
- Deliver and embed manufacturing operating standards, including the simplified Tier 5 Playbook, priority standards, stage gate processes, loss intelligence, and data connectivity.
- Strengthen manufacturing knowledge management by organizing information for retention and searchability while sponsoring capability building across the global network.
- Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
- Prior experience leading a technical or PMO function for a global company
- Experience building strong relationships across functions
- Experience in business transformation
- Strong experience in developing and/or validating business cases aligned to a strategic roadmap
- Experience in strategic planning, communications, and financial management
- Expert in governance formulation and organizational change management
- Ability to effectively drive business, culture, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment.
- Innovative approach, both in internal problem solving and in fostering innovative uses of technology in the organization.
- Program management as well as project management skills and experience.
- Strong facilitation skills with experience engaging teams in a collaborative, globally distributed environment.
- Executive presence with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and proven ability to work effectively within all levels of the organization.
- Strong drive to execution and setting the pace for continuous improvement.
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
- PMP or related certifications
