Process Overview:
Global Markets Technology (GMT) and Global Payments Solutions Technology (GPST) groups provide end-to-end technology solutions for Global Banking and Markets businesses including Treasury, Trade Finance, Payments, Transaction Banking, Equities Trading, Prime Brokerage, Fixed Income, Currencies, Commodities, Derivatives and Structured Products.
GMT & GPST groups have around 8000 resources in India and is involved in delivery of tech solutions for 1400+ applications. The group primarily delivers architecture, design, development, management, implementation and support using a wide range of technologies. The Delivery teams are doing extensive work in several regulatory, strategic and initiatives programs. In addition, the group has also established a strong partnership with the GBAM operations team in India to deliver automation and functional enhancements to the applications they are using
Job Description:
This role is responsible for leading technology delivery and modernization for mission-critical US Payments - Wires platforms. The VP will drive transformation across Fedwire, CHIPS, SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, routing, settlement, investigations, exception handling, and related integration services, with a clear focus on scalable engineering, resiliency, automation, and business outcomes.
The role requires strong wires modernization experience and deep hands-on technology credibility. The candidate should be able to convert modernization objectives into executable architecture and delivery plans, guide feature teams, partner with architecture, product, operations, compliance, fraud, and risk partners, and ensure solutions meet the control, resiliency, performance, and security standards expected for a Tier-1 payment rail.
A critical focus for this role is to modernize and build services around a vendor payment platform using Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, Oracle and/or distributed databases, Angular, APIs, microservices, and a modern containerized deployment model with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud or private-cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities: -
• Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed-system issues such as message parsing failures, routing defects, latency issues, data integrity gaps, resiliency failures, and integration errors.
• Experience working with regulatory and control expectations across OFAC, AML, sanctions, risk controls, audit, security, resiliency, and operational readiness.
• Strong partnering and influencing skills to work across architecture, product, operations, compliance, fraud, risk, and global engineering teams.
• People and delivery leadership experience managing or leading feature teams, senior engineers, and cross-functional delivery squads, with the ability to improve engineering maturity and mentor technical talent.
• Exposure to AI/GenAI, agentic solutions, or automation-led engineering productivity improvements will be an added advantage.
Requirements
Education: B.E./B. Tech/M.S./M. Tech or equivalent engineering qualification from a reputed institution.

Experience Range: 17+ yrs.
Foundational Skill:
• Strong technology leader with proven experience delivering large-scale modernization and transformation programs in Payments, preferably Wires, within a bank or financial services organization.
• Strong software engineering and architecture capability, with the ability to guide design, delivery, quality, resiliency, and production readiness for complex payment platforms.
• Deep experience in modern engineering practices including microservices, event-driven architecture, APIs, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, containerization, Kubernetes, and agile delivery.
• Ability to translate business and regulatory priorities into practical technology roadmaps, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Experience leading medium to large delivery teams or multiple feature teams across India and/or global locations.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills across technology, product, operations, risk, and compliance partners.
• Exposure to a wide range of technology stacks including Java, messaging platforms, data platforms, workflow systems, analytics, and automation solutions.
Desired skills:
• Experience in wires platform modernization, ISO 20022 migration, real-time payments, payment message transformation, or vendor payment platform integration.
• Experience creating a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Understanding of AI-first engineering practices, GenAI-enabled productivity, or agentic solutions for modernization and remediation use cases.
