Job Summary

As a Maintenance Mechanic Intern, you will work closely with our maintenance team to develop the skills and knowledge required for an Entry-Level Maintenance Mechanic role. This internship offers hands-on experience in state-of-the-art food manufacturing facilities, providing exposure to advanced equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive training on CMMS systems, inventory management, and planning/scheduling of maintenance work orders
• Modify, repair, install, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery, equipment, and facilities within processing and packaging departments
• Diagnose mechanical issues and deliver innovative solutions for equipment breakdowns using skills in mechanics, fitting, basic welding, metal fabrication, troubleshooting, and analytical problem-solving
• Operate machine shop tools such as drill presses, grinders, and saws
• Assist with setup, takedown, and relocation of bakery and packaging equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
• Respond promptly to equipment-related issues with a customer-focused approach
• Safely operate scissor lifts as required (following training and certification)

Key Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs is an asset
• Commitment to pursuing a Mechanical Certification
• Passion for mechanical repair and problem-solving
• Valid driver’s licence and vehicle is an asset
• Comfortable working rotating shifts (evenings, weekends)
