POSITION: Banquet Bartender
DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Food & Beverage
FLSA STATUS: Part-time / Non-Exempt
VENUE(S): The Oncenter
PAY RATE: $16.83/hour
HOURS: Schedule dependent on event needs; 0-29 hours a week

THE ROLE
As a Banquet Bartender at The Oncenter, you will mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes while ensuring all expectations are met to the client and guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide total guest satisfaction through skilled and capable service in accordance with New York State laws and regulations as well as Company policies, practices, and procedures.
Set up bars and accessories.
Serve liquor, beer, soda, juice, water, and mixed drinks.
Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
Utilize the point-of-sale system proficiently.
Maintain a clean work area.
Accept payment for customers’ orders.
Maintain consumption sheet and other related paperwork.
Comply with all inventory control measures.
Break down bar and store supplies at end of function.
Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area following sanitation standards.
Maintain a professional appearance, and professional relationship with coworkers at all times.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED.
1-2 years of bartending experience in a banquet environment.
ServeSafe & TIPS certification a plus.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to work and maintain standards in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Professional appearance and attitude are essential.
Ability to make professional, independent, and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
Must be able to be on time for your shift and maintain reliable attendance.
Must take direction well and work well individually and as a team.
Exceptional hospitality and customer service skills, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet service demand levels, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to walk/stand/sit for long periods of time.
Must have the physical ability to maneuver around the venue, at times walking and/or standing for 8-10 hours or greater, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs+, and frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting.
Ability to exert well-paced mobility to move quickly to the different areas of the facility as demands require.
Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
