Description
Summary:
Do you thrive on developing and managing the IT landscape for our NIBC Finance Accounting & Control domain?
Job Description:
As our Product Owner (PO), you will play a key role in maximizing the value delivered by the Accounting & Control IT delivery team. You will collaborate closely with the Business Owner of Finance and the IT Manager Finance & Risk to translate business demands into strategic roadmaps, detailing initiatives and domain roadmaps as epics, which you will then guide into the team backlog as user stories. As the team's primary advocate, you will align business and technology strategies, enabling the team to balance multiple stakeholders needs while continuously evolving solutions and ensuring compliance with the wide range of IT regulations within the banking domain.
Main Responsibilities
Craft and maintain a product vision and roadmap for both run and change activities, drawing from market insights and IT trends.
Manage and prioritize the Team Backlog based on value, and guide epics from the Domain Backlog into the Team Backlog.
Ensure the team only works on items that are refined, acting as a safeguard and facilitator.
Act as a sparring partner for the team, ensuring the solutions follow best practices for accounting systems and ETL processes.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Business Owner, end users, Domain Architect, IT Manager, and Transformation Office, valuing all perspectives while setting priorities based on value.
Support the delivery team in maximizing value delivery through tools and automated solutions, and clearly articulate the items on the team backlog.
Grasp the critical success factors for Accounting & Control by understanding the context of financial closures and what matters most in this process.
Actively contribute to the Product Owner Center of Expertise.
Coordinate release plans with key stakeholders and other teams when dependencies exist, while incorporating the team’s estimates.
Conduct non-functional controls on the IT product or service delivered by the team, ensuring IT solutions are secure and compliant
Your Challenge
In 2024, we expanded the Agile Way of Working (WoW) to include the business side by appointing Business Owners (BOs), who gather all functional needs and demands for their respective business domains. Each IT team now has a dedicated Product Owner and Scrum Master. You will join the Accounting & Control IT delivery team, which is responsible for managing the IT landscape that supports the Finance domain. The main challenge is implementing reporting and mapping requirements for ABN AMRO and facilitating the upcoming integration into the ABN AMRO technical landscape. At the same time, you will help ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of business-as-usual (BAU) processes, which are pivotal to NIBC’s financial reporting.
Your Team
You will step into the role of Product Owner for the IT Accounting & Control delivery team at NIBC. This dynamic team is at the heart of managing the IT landscape for our Finance business domain, where we provide essential IT support for NIBC’s general ledger and reporting capabilities.
As PO, you will become part of the broader IT Finance & Risk department, which includes the IT Accounting & Control team, the IT Regulatory Reporting team, and the IT Risk, Legal & Compliance team. An IT Service Manager also works in the department. You will report to the Head of IT Finance, Risk & Retail; team members report to the IT Manager Finance & Risk.
