Location: Peoria, Illinois
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | 8-Hour Shifts
Pay Range: $42.06–$54.42 per hour
Sign-On Bonus: $20,000 with a two-year commitment
Job Overview
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced CT Supervisor to support the daily operations of a high-volume Computed Tomography department in Peoria, Illinois.
The CT Supervisor will combine hands-on imaging responsibilities with staff leadership, workflow coordination, quality oversight, and operational support. The department serves a large 640-bed medical center with a Level I trauma program and operates five GE CT scanners.
This position is ideal for an experienced imaging professional who has at least three years of medical imaging experience and is ready to move into, or continue developing within, a formal supervisory role.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily CT department operations
- Support staffing, scheduling, workflow, and patient throughput
- Provide clinical guidance and support to CT Technologists and imaging staff
- Perform CT examinations when needed to support department operations
- Provide imaging services for inpatient, emergency, and Level I trauma patients
- Ensure diagnostic-quality images are produced according to established protocols
- Monitor patient safety and adherence to radiation-safety standards
- Assist with staff training, onboarding, competency assessment, and professional development
- Support performance management and provide coaching to department staff
- Help maintain efficient workflow across five CT scanners
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, emergency staff, and other clinical departments
- Respond to operational issues and help resolve workflow or staffing challenges
- Maintain compliance with departmental policies and applicable regulatory standards
- Participate in quality assurance and performance-improvement initiatives
- Monitor equipment performance and escalate service concerns appropriately
- Promote excellent patient care and customer service
- Utilize Epic and imaging systems for clinical documentation and workflow management
- Support department leadership with other operational responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree or completion of a formal Radiologic Technology program with an associated certificate or degree
- Minimum of three years of experience in a medical imaging modality
- Current ARRT certification
- Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency radiography accreditation/licensure
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic imaging and patient safety
- Ability to perform CT imaging
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Ability to support large patient volumes and changing department needs
Preferred
- Previous Lead, Charge, or supervisory imaging experience
- Dedicated CT Technologist experience
- Level I trauma imaging experience
- Experience working in a large acute-care medical center
- Experience with GE CT scanners
- Experience using Epic
- Previous travel imaging experience
- Experience training or mentoring imaging staff
