Do you want to join our team?
At HMH we value our employees. We offer exciting job opportunities that will give you the opportunity to grow in your role and give you the professional development you deserve. In addition to competitive pay and benefits, you will join a casual and inclusive work environment. Our environment is based on respect and having a good day at work, so you can expect to join a knowledgeable, global team who help each other to succeed.
We are looking for a Senior Application Engineer to strengthen HMH’s Application Engineering team in Kristiansand.
Join us in our quest to solve tomorrow’s challenges and innovate our future!
What will you be doing in this role?
As a Senior Application Engineer, you will act as an important link between engineering, commercial teams, and customers. You will help translate technical needs into strong commercial and technical solutions, supporting sales activities, tenders, quotations, product documentation, and customer clarifications.
You will work closely with the Aftermarket and Commercial teams to identify opportunities, develop quotations with solution descriptions and cost calculations, and provide technical support and advice to key account managers and clients. You will also contribute to project start-up activities, support innovation and business case development when needed, and help maintain standard product libraries as a basis for effective quoting processes.
This is a role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, customers, sales, and business understanding. You will have the opportunity to develop broader product, system, market, and multi-discipline knowledge while working closely with both technical and commercial colleagues.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you who have a strong technical foundation, enjoy solving problems, and communicate well with both technical and commercial stakeholders. You are curious, structured, analytical, and motivated by learning more about products, sales processes, customer needs, and multi-discipline technical solutions.
We also think it is important that you have the following qualifications:
A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to work creatively, analytically, and in a structured way
Strong hands-on technical experience and knowledge of drilling equipment
Ability to work independently while also starting and driving processes through fulfilment and delivery together with the application and sales team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Curiosity to learn sales processes, new products, and multi-discipline technical areas.
Excellent Office 365 knowledge
Knowledge of ACAD and/or 3D engineering tools. AI experience is an advantage, but not a requirement
Should you not tick all these boxes, we still encourage you to apply – but we are looking for you who can tell us in the application how your work experiences and education is of relevance for this role, why you would be a great fit, and what your most notable and relevant strengths are.
We focus on relevant skills and experiences rather than years of experience or whether you hold a bachelor's degree or master’s degree.
What can you expect in return?
Besides the typical things, such as flexible working hours, pension and insurance, subsidized and varied lunch menu, free parking, and a great company culture, we can also offer you:
A diverse and inclusive work environment where people are genuinely helpful, and where you are encouraged to develop your skills and share your knowledge
An opportunity to contribute to and influence the future of HMH
A positive attitude towards your career development in a company who values internal mobility and continuous development
The opportunity to expand your product, system, commercial, market, and multi-discipline knowledge
A unique position that combines technical understanding, commercial insight, and business understanding
Workplace: Kristiansand, Norway
