The Department of Facility Maintenance, Automotive Equipment Service Division, is looking for three (3) Tire Repair Workers experienced in changing and repairing automotive and truck tires to work at the Halawa Corporation Yard. Most duties involve working on tires and tubes from passenger vehicles, heavy trucks, construction equipment, and other heavy-duty equipment. You will also perform basic vehicle maintenance duties requiring the knowledge and skills to help keep City vehicles safe and operational for our employees. 

What You'll Do
  • Change, repair, mount, and replace tires and tubes
  • Operate tire changing machines, hydraulic lifts, impact tools, and other shop equipment
  • Drive a non-CDL City Tire Repair & Service Truck to respond to roadside and job-site tire repair calls across Oahu
  • Refuel diesel, gas, and L.P.G. powered vehicles and equipment
  • Keeps written records of work performed, including work orders, inspection forms, and fuel records
  • Help keep the shop clean, safe, stocked, and organized

Special Working Requirements 
  • Serves as a Disaster Response Worker during times of emergencies.
  • Exposure to a potential explosive separation of a multi-piece rim wheel or a sudden release of the contained air of a single-piece rim wheel.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Some experience and/or training in changing and repairing automotive and truck tires.

Desirable Experience: experience repairing heavy vehicle tires, including roadside repair.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
