About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Accountant to manage billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, supplier payments, and day-to-day accounting operations.

This is an execution-focused role for someone who can independently manage accounting processes, maintain accurate financial records, proactively follow up on outstanding payments and missing information, and ensure billing and collections are completed on time. Advanced, hands-on Xero experience is a non-negotiable requirement.

The role involves limited direct customer interaction, with most payment and documentation follow-ups handled through email and messaging. Outbound customer calls, when required, will be supported by the CX team.

What you’ll do

• Billing & Accounts Receivable: Manage customer invoicing, credit notes, payment tracking, and accounts receivable. Monitor outstanding balances and proactively follow up on overdue payments through email and messaging.

• Accounts Payable: Process supplier bills, maintain purchase orders, match invoices against approvals, and prepare payment schedules.

• Accounting Operations: Complete bank, customer, supplier, and balance-sheet reconciliations. Prepare manual journals, accruals, prepayments, and month-end adjustments.

• Financial Records & Clean-Up: Maintain accurate accounting records, identify and correct errors, and support historical transaction clean-up when required.

• Reporting & Cash Flow: Maintain billing and collections trackers and prepare basic cash-flow forecasts and finance reports.

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with the Singapore team to obtain missing documents, approvals, and information needed to complete billing and accounting processes.

• Process Ownership: Take ownership of day-to-day accounting activities, identify issues proactively, and ensure billing, collections, supplier payments, and financial records remain accurate and up to date.

 

What You Bring

• 5+ years of accounting or finance operations experience, preferably in a fast-paced or growing business.

• Advanced, hands-on Xero experience is mandatory, including:

• Customer invoices and credit notes

• Supplier bills and purchase orders

• Bank reconciliations

• Manual journals

• Accounts receivable and accounts payable

• Month-end adjustments

• Account clean-up and error correction

• Strong experience in billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, collections, and accounts payable.

• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.

• Good written and spoken English.

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and take ownership without close supervision.

• Strong attention to detail, organisation, and accuracy.

• Proactive and assertive when following up on payments, documents, and approvals.

• Ability to identify and resolve accounting issues independently.

• Able to work during agreed Singapore core working hours.
