What You'll Do:
AKG is hiring a Material Planner to support material planning activities at our Mebane, NC facility. In this role, you will help ensure the timely availability of materials needed to support production schedules, customer demand, and inventory objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain planning, purchasing, or inventory management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage material planning activities to ensure adequate inventory levels and uninterrupted production.
- Monitor ERP (SAP) data, including exception messages, purchase requisitions, inventory levels, and delivery statuses.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, logistics, and customer service teams to support material availability and production requirements.
- Participate in daily production meetings and communicate material constraints or risks.
- Analyze demand fluctuations, order changes, inventory trends, and supply issues to develop appropriate planning actions.
- Track and expedite critical material deliveries when necessary.
- Maintain accurate planning parameters and master data within SAP.
- Prepare material status updates and communicate potential supply risks to management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management, planning accuracy, and supply chain efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in material planning, supply chain, purchasing, or inventory management.
- Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience in manufacturing or production environments preferred.
