Key Responsibilities
- Own the operational health and reliability of all abatement systems supporting semiconductor process equipment.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance strategies for abatement equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and drive continuous reliability improvements.
- Maintain system documentation, operating procedures, and maintenance records.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on:
- Burn-Wet Abatement Systems
- Plasma Abatement Systems
- Point-of-Use Abatement Systems
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, process, and controls-related failures.
- Coordinate repairs with OEMs and external suppliers.
- Lead root cause investigations for recurring failures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Work closely with equipment owners to ensure proper integration between process tools and abatement infrastructure.
- Validate exhaust flow requirements and process compatibility.
- Support new tool installations and facility modification projects.
- Ensure safe handling of hazardous exhaust gases and process by-products.
- Support Hazard Reviews, JHAs, Risk Assessments, and MOC activities.
- Maintain emergency response procedures for abatement-related incidents.
- Drive EHS best practices throughout laboratory operations.
- Analyze equipment performance trends.
- Improve MTBF and reduce downtime.
- Drive cost optimization through predictive maintenance and improved spare management.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in:
- Semiconductor Manufacturing / R&D labs / Facilities engineering
Preferred Technical Expertise
- Burn-Wet Abatement / Plasma Abatement Systems
- Wafer fab experience is an added advantage
- Deep understanding of utility systems (Vacuum/Exhaust/ Cooling water system/Chemical delivery/PLC/SCADA/Sensors)
Semiconductor Processes
Understanding of processes generating exhaust emissions:
- CVD/PVD/Etch etc
