App Development Senior Programmer - Assistant Vice President

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional with strong expertise in Accounting Platforms, Data Validation, ETL Testing, and Banking Domain Processes. The candidate will play a key role in validating business events, accounting transformations, data mappings, and ledger outputs across banking products and accounting systems. The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of Accounting Flows, Banking Products, Data Reconciliation, ETL Processes, and Data Quality Validation, with hands-on experience in UNIX and SQL-based data analysis. Experience working on accounting platforms, financial data processing, and regulatory/ledger transformation initiatives is highly preferred.

Must Have Skills

Domain Expertise

• 9-14 years of experience in Banking and Financial Services.
• Strong understanding of Accounting Platforms, Accounting Flows, and General Ledger processes.
• Experience working with one or more Banking/Capital Markets products:
  • Corporate Loans
  • Fixed Income & OTC Derivatives
  • Securities Reference Data
  • Equities
  • Deposits / DDA Accounts
  • Mortgages
• Understanding of Business Events and their translation into accounting entries and General Ledger postings.
• Experience validating accounting transformations and financial data flows.

Data Quality & Testing Skills

• Strong SQL expertise for data analysis, reconciliation, and validation.
• Strong UNIX/Linux command-line skills.
• Experience in Data Quality Engineering and ETL Validation.
• Experience reviewing source-to-target mapping documents.
• Data lineage analysis and feed validation.
• Functional Testing, SIT, and UAT support.
• Defect tracking, investigation, and root cause analysis.

ETL & Data Processing

• Strong understanding of ETL concepts and data transformation processes.
• Experience validating inbound and outbound data feeds.
• Experience working with large-scale financial data platforms.
• Experience in data reconciliation across multiple systems.

Communication & Analysis

• Requirement analysis and business document review.
• Stakeholder management and collaboration across Business, Finance, and Technology teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a global banking environment.

Good to Have Skills

• Exposure to Python for automation testing, data validation, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Exposure to Ab Initio platform and ETL framework.
• Experience leveraging GitHub Copilot / Microsoft 365 Copilot for productivity and test automation.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, and Ansible.
• Experience with MongoDB, DB2, PostgreSQL, or Sybase.
• Automation framework development and maintenance experience.
• Exposure to Generative AI tools and AI-assisted testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate end-to-end accounting flows and financial transactions.
• Perform data reconciliation and validation across source, staging, and target systems.
• Review business requirements, mapping documents, and accounting specifications.
• Validate business events, accounting transformations, and General Ledger postings.
• Analyze inbound and outbound data feeds for completeness, accuracy, and data quality.
• Conduct ETL and data quality testing across banking applications.
• Perform root cause analysis, defect investigation, and resolution validation.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Accounting SMEs, Finance teams, and Technology stakeholders to ensure quality delivery.
• Support platform migration, accounting transformation, and regulatory initiatives.
• Develop and execute automation testing solutions using Python and leverage AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot/Microsoft Copilot) to improve testing efficiency and productivity.
• Participate in requirement discussions, data analysis, reference data reviews, and accounting flow validations.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
