The role
Our Global Business Services (GBS) is the union of innovation, operational excellence, and digital
transformation. We strive to elevate user experiences through standardized, cutting-edge automated solutions that promote efficiency, agility, and informed decision-making across various functions and markets.
Effective knowledge management is critical for organisations seeking to maintain a competitive edge and foster continuous improvement. By systematically capturing, organising, sharing, and utilising knowledge assets, companies can drive innovation, enhance collaboration, and reduce redundant efforts. The Knowledge Management (KM) Analyst plays a pivotal role in this process. This professional is responsible for designing and implementing strategies to ensure vital information is accessible, accurate, and secure. By analysing knowledge flows, facilitating best practice sharing, and supporting digital platforms, the KM Analyst helps maximise organisational learning and operational efficiency.
What you'll be responsible for
- Identifying critical information, best practices, and "lessons learned" from projects and subject matter experts.
- Developing templates and guidelines to ensure information is consistent, readable, and professional.
- Periodically reviewing the knowledge base to archive outdated information and update existing articles.
- Structuring knowledge system categories to be logical for end users.
- Utilising appropriate keywords and tags within content to optimise search engine retrieval and ensure alignment with user queries.
- Optimizing the user interface of internal portals (like SharePoint, LMS, etc.) for maximum findability.
- Monitoring metrics such as page views, search queries with "zero results," and user engagement levels.
- Measuring how the knowledge base affects KPIs, such as reduced support tickets or faster onboarding times for new hires.
- Serving as the functional administrator for Knowledge Management Systems (KMS).
- Ensuring the knowledge base connects effectively with other enterprise tools like Microsoft Teams.
- Working with IT to resolve technical bugs or permission issues within the platforms.
- Encouraging employees to document their processes rather than keeping "tribal knowledge" in their heads. Page 1 of 2
- Leading workshops or creating "how-to" videos to teach staff how to contribute to and navigate the knowledge ecosystem.
- Gathering user feedback to continuously improve the system’s utility and ease of use.
