Description

Senior Manager, RBS Consumer Finance Line 1 Risk - PCI Program

Do work that matters:

We are looking for a driven and experienced Senior Manager to join the Retail Banking Services (RBS) Consumer Finance Line 1 Risk team and drive CBA’s Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance program. PCI DSS is the global security standard for protecting cardholder data across organisations that store, process or transmit payment card information.

You will be part of a high-performing team supporting Consumer Finance to deliver safe, simple and trusted customer outcomes. This is a visible role spanning Consumer Finance, Business Banking, Payments, Technology, Cyber and Operations.

Your Impact:

As the dedicated Line 1 Risk Senior Manager for PCI, you will ensure risks are understood, owned and effectively managed. You will establish and maintain a clear view of CBA’s compliance position, challenge assessments and remediation plans, and help embed a sustainable approach based on clear accountability, continuous evidence and effective governance.

You will work with senior product, risk and technology stakeholders, translate complex requirements into practical risk decisions, and lead like an owner to protect customers and support CBA cards products.

On any given day, you will:

  • Act as the trusted Line 1 Risk providing pragmatic advice and constructive challenge to senior business and technology stakeholders.

  • Lead the coordination and governance of CBA’s PCI program across relevant business units, Technology, Cyber, Payments and Operations.

  • Establish a consolidated view of PCI scope, assessment outcomes, control gaps, remediation, accountable owners and material exposure.

  • Review and challenge self-assessments and remediation plans to ensure outcomes are evidence-based, risks are appropriately assessed and actions address the underlying exposure.

  • Apply CBA’s Operational Risk and Compliance Framework requirements consistently across PCI risks, obligations, controls, issues, incidents and risk acceptance decisions.

  • Drive non-financial risk governance, reporting and escalation through relevant Consumer Finance, RBS and Group forums, providing clear and decision-useful insights.

  • Translate PCI compliance, cyber and technology risks into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders, supporting informed decision-making and risk reduction.

  • Strengthen and simplify Line 1 Risk processes, build capability across the business, and promote proactive ownership of risks and controls.

  • Guide and coach team members and partners to deliver high-quality outcomes and a strong risk culture.

The role provides coordination, oversight, governance and Line 1 Risk challenge. Accountability for compliance, control operation and technical delivery and remediation remains with the relevant business, service and technology owners.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Significant experience in Line 1 Risk, operational risk, compliance, cyber risk or technology risk within financial services.

  • Knowledge of retail lending, payments, PCI DSS or card schemes is highly desirable.

  • Experience leading and driving projects or programs, with clear direction and oversight.

  • A deep understanding of non-financial risk frameworks and experience reviewing risks, controls, issues, incidents and remediation plans.

  • Strong judgement and the confidence to form and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.

  • The ability to influence across teams and business units, remove complexity and independently drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical matters into clear business insights and practical action.
