We are seeking a skilled Cook 1 to join our team. As a Cook 1, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to our recipes and standards. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality dishes that are both visually appealing and delicious.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare sauces, soups, and hot entrees for service and special functions, insuring that all stations are set for forecasted covers.
• Maintain food quality and adherence to company standards.
• Assures that all kitchen personnel and servers are aware of specials, plate presentations, and prices.
• Suggest daily specials that incorporate seasonal or special order ingredients.
• Coordinate service with restaurant and banquet operations.
• Other related tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of buffet and/or line cooking experience required.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment/standards, food safety standards, FIFO practices, and WHMIS requirements. is required.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong knife skills are required.
• Banquet experience is considered an asset but is not required.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
• Food Handler Certification is required, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
