What’s the role?

The Head of SMT-US is responsible for leading and managing the overall operations and resources, ensuring the achievement of organizational goals and objectives. This role represents the organization and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing one voice to represent ZEISS SMT. The Head of SMT-US plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive work environment, building a cohesive, collaborative and high-performing team that drives the strategic direction of the organization This includes business development, field marketing, leading the technology roadmaps, maintaining the installation basis, product sales and continuously developing partnerships, including but not limited to ZEISS SMT, ZEISS INC, ZEISS SMT SSC teams and our customers. Finally, this person is responsible for developing the SMT-US organization, reporting structures, synergies and driving the cultural development of team leaders and members including talent management.

What you’ll do in this role:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Leadership and Management: Provide visionary leadership, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Lead and develop the executive team and senior management. 

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to advance the organization’s mission and objectives. Identify opportunities for growth and improvement and allocate resources accordingly. 

  • Financial Oversight: Manage the organization's budget and financial resources, ensuring financial stability and accountability through effective financial planning, reporting, and auditing processes. 

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including partners, clients, and the community. Advocate for the organization’s interests and mission. 

  • Sales: Ensure meeting sales objectives and implementing negotiation excellence 

  • Performance Monitoring: Establish performance metrics (KPI) and evaluate organizational progress towards goals. Implement corrective actions as necessary ensuring objectives are met. 

  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure the organization adheres to legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of governance and ethical conduct. 

  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations ensuring efficient and effective management of resources. Implement policies / procedures to enhance productivity and compliance.  

  • Global Key Account Management: Manages customer relations and facilitates global way of work for customers which are headquartered in USA 

  • Culture and Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure the recruitment, retention, and development of high-quality staff.  

 

Your Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in semiconductor-related industries, with a proven track record in senior leadership roles within a similar organization 

  • Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a closely related field 

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a similar organization 

  • Strong strategic thinking, planning and decision-making skills 

  • Financial acumen and experience in budget management 

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities 

  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders 

  • Capability to work in matrix organization and manage your senior managers 

  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving goals 

The annual pay range for this position is $270,000 – $330,000

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions.  ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
