CQS/Manulife is looking for a Responsible Investment Analyst who will work closely with our Responsible Investment Specialist to support ESG integration and participate in delivering against key strategic sustainability responsibilities, including engagement, stewardship, research and client reporting.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in climate focused engagement activity, including our Targeted Net Zero alignment programme, working with our Responsible Investment Specialist

  • Co-ordinate with sector research analysts to ensure we have up to date ESG ratings and timely corporate evaluations which cover relevant material ESG factor assessment

  • Conduct due diligence and ensure accurate portfolio-level ESG data capture and monthly reporting analysis, including participation in efforts to further enhance the quality of data to assess climate, nature and people risks and impacts

  • Support and contribute to firm-wide responsible investment reporting including the UK Stewardship Code, PRI and TCFD

  • Managing written client and advisor queries linked to MCQS’ portfolios. This includes supporting the delivery of climate data capture and engagement case studies

  • Develop and maintain ESG content for presentations, reports / factsheets and other commercial materials

  • Proactively communicate insights on ESG risks, opportunities and trends alongside monitoring of regulatory reporting changes, working with the investment teams to support portfolio managers and enhance firm-wide knowledge sharing

  • Support RFP and specialised ESG reporting requirements

Qualifications:

  • Organised and with strong attention to detail; works well under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Excellent writing skills, with ability to craft clear and resonant language, and numeracy skills

  • Team player with ability to communicate clearly and to motivate involvement from colleagues and other business areas

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office - Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Ability to establish smooth working relationships with all internal stakeholders

  • Qualifications – degree level (All new grads are welcome to apply), ESG CFA not required but would be a positive.

Salary range is expected to be between

£52,000.00 GBP - £86,500.00 GBP

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
