Catalent’s Kansas City facility is home to our Oral & Specialty Drug Delivery, Biologics Analytical Services and Clinical Supply Services businesses.
Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Senior Pharmaceutical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will perform set up, tear down, manufacturing, and cleaning of equipment and processes with moderate supervision. You will ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements such as SOPs, cGMP, and safety standards. This position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to quality and compliance in all aspects of manufacturing operations.
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00AM – 2:30PM
Location: Kansas City, MO
100% Onsite
The Role
Ensure cGMP compliance and maintain good housekeeping standards.
Request work orders for processing rooms and equipment within the core group.
Maintain 5S standards and ensure the facility is always “tour ready.”
Visually inspect products to meet quality requirements.
Communicate and execute quality system improvement ideas and maintain effectiveness of quality system components.
Ensure operators follow all safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Drive productivity improvements while maintaining high quality standards.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions; partner with scientists and manufacturing leads on batch record template issues.
Ensure processing under GMP conditions and strict adherence to SOPs.
Coordinate with Warehouse and Supply Chain to meet timelines and manage material movement.
Support customer requests as needed.
Partner with management to standardize training and develop operational training requirements.
Collaborate with other departments for seamless communication.
Participate in site committees such as EHS, Employee Engagement, or Quality committees.
Perform other duties as needed.
The Candidate
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma required; equivalent years of pharmaceutical manufacturing supervisory experience may substitute for education.
High school diploma: five to seven years of experience with at least three years in a pharmaceutical or cGMP manufacturing environment.
Technical degree or certification: three to five years of experience with at least three years in a pharmaceutical or cGMP manufacturing environment.
Thorough knowledge of equipment processes and frameworks.
Leadership qualities or strong potential for team management.
Advanced operator qualification per supervisor or manager specified equipment train(s); basic knowledge of all equipment within work zone.
Thorough knowledge of cGMP, FDA, MHRA, and DEA guidelines and their application.
Excellent computer skills.
Ability to manage priorities and projects effectively.
Clear communication with all levels of management.
Ability to work in a matrix organization.
Maintain current knowledge of cGMP regulations and regulatory trends.
Handle raw materials, including manipulation of drums weighing up to 150 kg and applying up to 80 lbs. of force.
Lift boxes and containers from waist to chest height; overhead lifting up to 15 lbs.
Push and pull ingredient canisters; maneuver drums in manufacturing areas.
Clean areas and equipment using brushes, hoses, and other tools; work in various postures including squatting, kneeling, and overhead reach.
Transport materials using pallet jacks and other equipment; climb ladders and maneuver around equipment.
Wear safety glasses and steel-toed shoes; use fall prevention devices and air-purifying respirators as required.
Operate safely in a dynamic environment with changing conditions.
Preferred Skills & Background
Thorough knowledge of solid dosage manufacturing preferred.
A technical degree or certification is preferred.
