Position Summary
Maintenance Technician in our facility maintenance department. This position performs all functions
of repair to plant electrical systems, plumbing and heating system (no electrical or plumbing license required but correspondence courses in electricity are encouraged). Performs minor repairs to buildings and grounds. Installs new equipment or assists in new equipment installation. Performs required maintenance on production and service machinery and equipment including overhaul if needed.
Essential Responsibilities
Performs all functions of repair to plant electrical systems, plumbing, heating and sparkler system (no electrical or plumbing license required but correspondence courses in electricity are encouraged)
Performs minor repairs to buildings and grounds
Installs new equipment or assists in new equipment installation
Participates in Kaizen events, Kanbans, continuous improvement and safety teamsPerforms all functions of repair to plant electrical systems, plumbing, heating and sprinkler system (no electrical or plumbing license required but correspondence courses in electricity are encouraged).
Performs general carpentry work as required in the construction of offices and other Plant facilities
Performs complex electrical hookup when required for testing electrically powered valve actuators
Performs maintenance and limited troubleshooting of CNC equipment
Completes daily work reports of day's activities
Performs weekly fire prevention inspection in each plant and completes related reports.
Handles and disposes of hazardous waste. Completes required work and applicable documentation in accordance with all procedures and current environmental and safety regulations. In addition, required environmental and safety training must be completed and kept up to date as per the appropriate laws and regulations.
Performs any facility or equipment repair welding
Opens and closes facilities as required
Performs efficiently and in-line with current performance standards, as applicable
Contributes to a continuously improving work environment in the spirit of teamwork
Performs other related duties as assigned
Position Requirements

Strong organizational and communication skills, analytical experience and problem solving. Must be self-motivated, independent, and flexible to frequently changing tasks and priorities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. Electrical, plumbing, heating, sprinkler experience and CNC trouble shooting. Prior experience in production or manufacturing, and use of hand production tools, strongly preferred. Degree not required, course work preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, managers, customers, etc.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTING SKILLS
Basic knowledge of computer operation. Must have basic familiarity with computer and software systems such as email, database, and data entry.
