Description
Role: Solutions Engineer
Location: HSR Layout, Bengaluru
Experience: 1 to 3 years
Employment Type: Full-time
Role overview : As a Solutions Engineer at Linkrunner, you will be the primary technical partner for our customers. You will lead onboarding, guide teams through Linkrunner SDK integrations, configure attribution and deep linking, work hands-on in ad network dashboards, and provide day-to-day technical customer support. Communication and problem solving are the two most important capabilities for this role. Customers may report that tracking is broken, an install is showing as organic, a deep link is opening the wrong destination, or events are missing. You will gather the right context, inspect the integration and data, isolate the cause, explain it clearly, and own the issue through a verified resolution.
What you will do
1. Customer onboarding and solution design
● Lead technical kick-off calls with customer engineering, product, and growth teams.
● Understand the customer's app architecture, platforms, attribution goals, events, user journeys, and campaign launch plan.
● Create a practical integration checklist, define owners, and track the customer from initial setup through production validation.
● Set expectations clearly, identify blockers early, and keep technical and non-technical stakeholders aligned.
2. Linkrunner SDK integration and validation
● Guide customers through integrating Linkrunner SDKs for Android, iOS, Flutter, React Native, Expo, and Web.
● Help install and configure packages through Maven Central, CocoaPods or Swift Package Manager, pub.dev, and npm.
● Support SDK initialization, project token setup, app and bundle identifiers, platform permissions, manifest or plist changes, and environment configuration. ● Review customer implementation code for app lifecycle handling, deferred deep links, Universal Links, Android App Links, custom URI schemes, and deep link callbacks.
● Help implement and validate customer user IDs, app opens, custom events, onboarding events, revenue or payment events, and other required event payloads.
● Verify event names, required parameters, data types, timestamps, and identity consistency so data reaches Linkrunner in the expected format.
● Validate integration behavior on fresh installs, reinstalls, app updates, background and foreground launches, and common in-app browser journeys.
● Check SDK and wrapper version compatibility, reproduce issues using Linkrunner sample apps, and confirm whether a problem exists in the customer's installed package or the latest published version.
● Run staging and production-readiness checks before launch, then verify clicks, installs, deep links, events, attribution, and postbacks end to end.
3. Ad network setup and troubleshooting
● Work directly inside customer dashboards such as Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads, with exposure to Apple Search Ads, TikTok Ads, and Snap Ads.
● Configure and verify destination URLs, tracking templates, custom parameters, dynamic macros, conversion actions, attribution windows, and account permissions.
● Check that network click identifiers and campaign parameters flow correctly into Linkrunner and are not missing, malformed, or left unsubstituted.
● Set up and validate server-to-server postbacks, Meta App Events, Google Ads conversions, Play Install Referrer flows, and SKAdNetwork-related configuration.
● Compare network dashboard metrics with Linkrunner data and explain expected differences in attribution windows, reporting delays, and measurement methods.
4. Technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
● Diagnose issues across SDK code, mobile app configuration, tracking links, redirects, campaign settings, domains, DNS or CDN behavior, and ad network configuration.
● Troubleshoot Universal Links, Android App Links, deferred deep linking, custom schemes, and webview behavior across WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, and other in-app browsers.
● Use cURL, REST APIs, JSON payloads, device logs, browser developer tools, Charles Proxy or Proxyman, and basic SQL queries to collect evidence.
● Distinguish between an SDK bug, customer implementation issue, campaign configuration problem, ad network setup issue, test-device behavior, and a platform incident.
● Reproduce issues, document the evidence, work with Linkrunner engineering when a code change is required, and verify the fix before closing the issue.
5. Customer communication and support
● Serve as a frontline responder across shared Slack channels, WhatsApp groups, calls, and support queues.
● Ask focused questions and turn vague reports into clear, testable problem statements.
● Explain technical findings in plain language to growth and business teams, while giving customer engineers the implementation detail they need.
● Provide timely status updates, set realistic expectations, and communicate clear owners and next steps during active investigations.
● Stay calm during campaign launches or escalations and take ownership until the customer has a verified resolution.
6. Documentation and product feedback
● Write and maintain integration guides, setup checklists, code examples, FAQs, and troubleshooting playbooks.
● Record common failure patterns and turn repeated support questions into better documentation, SDK safeguards, or product improvements.
● Share structured customer feedback with Linkrunner product and engineering teams and help prioritize issues based on customer impact.
What we are looking for
1. Problem solving
● A methodical approach to debugging. You collect evidence, form hypotheses, test them, and avoid guessing.
● Comfort working through incomplete information and knowing which questions, logs, dashboards, or tests will narrow the issue.
● Strong ownership and persistence. You follow technical blockers through to a verified resolution.
2. Communication
● Clear spoken and written communication with both customer developers and non-technical growth or business teams.
● Ability to explain technical concepts without unnecessary jargon and convert findings into specific next steps.
● Active listening, empathy, and composure during urgent support conversations or campaign launches.
● Strong organization across multiple customer conversations, open issues, and follow-ups.
3. Technical foundation
● 1 to 3 years of experience in solutions engineering, technical support, implementation, developer support, mobile engineering, ad operations, or MarTech. ● Hands-on experience integrating or supporting at least one mobile or web SDK.
● Ability to read implementation code, logs, and stack traces in at least one of Kotlin or Java, Swift, Dart, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
● Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, cURL, package managers, mobile build configuration, and network inspection tools.
● Basic to intermediate SQL skills for inspecting click, install, event, and attribution records.
4. Mobile attribution and ad network knowledge
● Practical experience navigating and configuring Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads.
● Understanding of tracking links, campaign parameters, click IDs, conversion actions, postbacks, and attribution windows.
● Understanding of the mobile measurement lifecycle, including clicks, installs, app opens, custom events, revenue events, re-attribution, and deep links.
● Familiarity with Play Install Referrer, Apple privacy and attribution concepts, and SKAdNetwork is useful.
Nice to have
● Experience with a Mobile Measurement Partner such as Branch, AppsFlyer, Adjust, Kochava, or Singular.
● Experience with affiliate tracking or partner platforms such as Trackier, Affise, Tune, or Offer18.
● Basic scripting skills in Python, Node.js, or Bash for testing and data verification.
● Experience supporting customers through high-touch channels such as Slack or WhatsApp
