Description
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, as Sanitation Operator, you will perform sanitation and production operations within the assigned department, ensuring equipment, facilities, and processes meet company quality, food safety, and operational standards while supporting efficient production activities.
A Taste of Your Responsibilities
- Perform sanitation and production duties within the assigned department while supporting safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Clean, sanitize, dry, inspect, and secure machinery, tools, equipment, production areas, floors, ceilings, drains, and work surfaces according to sanitation procedures and USDA requirements.
- Prepare, mix, and apply approved cleaning and sanitizing solutions using foaming, scrubbing, rinsing, sanitizing, and high-pressure cleaning methods.
- Disassemble, reassemble, inspect, and maintain equipment components including machine parts, conveyors, belts, guardrails, doors, lids, and safety guards.
- Remove barrels, totes, and other containers and operate valves, doors, lids, drains, water systems, and related equipment as required.
- Review production schedules, verify process orders, and ensure materials, ingredients, and supplies are available for scheduled production runs.
- Start, monitor, and support production processes while performing operational tasks, quality inspections, and communicating production status updates to leadership.
- Complete required production, sanitation, quality, regulatory, and system documentation accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues, clear minor jams, reset machinery, and assist with production changeovers to minimize downtime.
- Follow all safety, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and 5S workplace standards while demonstrating teamwork, accountability, and professional conduct and performing other duties as assigned.
Ingredients Required for Your Success
- Chemical handling experience and successful completion of required chemical safety training.
- Effective organizational and communication skills.
- Experience completing and maintaining production and sanitation documentation accurately.
- Commitment to personal safety and the safety of team members through compliance with safety procedures.
- Strong teamwork skills and a self-motivated approach to work.
- Knowledge of food safety principles and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Physical Requirements
