Job Title: Solutions Architect – Perishable Logistics & Cold Chain Operations

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect / Cold Chain Logistics Engineer to design, optimize, and scale our warehousing, transportation, and distribution operations. In this role, you will build end-to-end operational workflows specifically engineered for perishable freight (produce, floral, proteins). You will lead the design of cold storage facilities, cross-docking procedures, temperature-controlled transport routing, and logistics software integration to ensure zero temperature loss and maximum shelf-life preservation.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Facility Design:
Design optimal warehouse layouts, rack configurations, and temperature-zoned staging areas for rapid cross-docking and cold storage.
Transportation & Distribution Strategy:
Engineer cold-chain distribution networks integrating air freight, ocean reefers, drayage, and final-mile refrigerated transport.
Map out time-sensitive delivery schedules and carrier routing to minimize transit times and reduce spoilage risk.
Process Engineering & Technology:
Select, configure, and implement logistics technology, including WMS, TMS, and real-time IoT temperature logging/telemetry.
Analyze operational KPIs (throughput, dock-to-stock times, temperature compliance) to identify bottlenecks and continuous improvement opportunities.
Regulatory & Quality Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, IATA CEIV Fresh, and OSHA regulations.
Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cold chain integrity during customs holds and airport/seaport transfers.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of operational design, logistics engineering, or cold-chain management experience within a freight forwarding or 3PL environment.
Industry Expertise: Deep domain knowledge of perishable freight handling, cold storage operations, and temperature-controlled freight movements.
Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience implementing or configuring Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Skills: Strong analytical, data modeling, and process mapping abilities; bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are highly preferred in the South Florida market.
