About the Role
The Senior Director of Events at the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) will be accountable for the performance and success of all fundraising events and strategies to meet revenue goals. This position will manage the Events Team, including an Events Director and Events Managers, and will oversee a portfolio of up to 100 community and signature events.
The Senior Director must be able to demonstrate internal team leadership while employing an entrepreneurial, collaborative and results-oriented approach to lead and drive the production of high-quality events that drive revenue and advance ALS TDI's brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful management of all ALS TDI-hosted signature events, as well as support for large third-party fundraising events benefiting ALS TDI
- Collaborate with the Marketing Team to ensure proper promotion of all events, and collaborate todevelop content for event correspondence, collateral materials, social media and web.
- Support events team in the execution of community-hosted events and programs across the country.
- Ensure effective management and maintenance of accurate donor databases and fundraising platforms.
- Ensure that all fundraising activities meet the highest ethical standards.
- Maintain online and internal events calendars.
- Provide outreach to community members to get them involved in fundraising activities and keep them invested in ALS TDI.
- Assess the need for new tools, and design and implement those to address revenue goals and efficiencies.
- Ensure that liability and insurance policies are current and appropriate for all events.

Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- 5+ years of experience in event management, fundraising, or marketing/communications, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- An understanding of charitable giving legal guidelines, specifically as it relates to fundraising events.
- Prior management experience and strong leadership skills.
- The flexibility to work some late evenings and occasional weekends due to the nature of our events.
- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills: the ability to work effectively with donors, volunteers, and staff; display superior judgment and diplomatic skills; excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks with a high level of organization and accuracy.
- A collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet research and strong knowledge of social media.
- Experience working with CRMs, preferably Salesforce.
- Demonstrated success in the promotion
- Commitment to and passion for ALS TDI's mission and adherence to its core values.
- Ability to promote ALS TDI mission, programs, and events to a variety of audiences.
- Display in-depth knowledge of and experience with all social media platforms.
- Ability to travel periodically.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
