Plant Engineer II - Thomson Facility - Plant 22Position Overview
Responsibilities: - To effectively manage maintenance personnel - Discuss project with process engineer and determine level of priority for each - Develop and implement a schedule for completing projects for plant operations in a timely manner based on priority needs given by higher management - Order supplies and equipment - Determine and schedule delivery times - Oversee maintenance projects providing necessary supervision to complete job assignments on schedule in a safe and quality manner - Oversee major breakdowns in the plant - Submit project proposals for needed items - Approve payments on applicable bills - Approve maintenance department requisitions - Efficiently expedite and assign work orders - Deal with outside contractors/vendors for plant project on status update, problem or assistance - Assist staff operations with project development and proposal (i.e. collect quotes, assist in determining requirements) - Supervise and implement a preventive maintenance program - Provide quotes for in-house maintenance labor and/or material - Meet with plant manager to review projects and activities when necessary - Oversee work in the Waste To Energy (WTE) boiler area - Follow SQS management Responsibilities as required in the SQS procedures manual - Follow SES management Responsibilities as defined in the SES Program Manual. - Administer departmental and plant policies and procedures - Promote and instruct safe work habits and good housekeeping practices and assure that they are observed - Hold first day back safety meetings - Interview maintenance openings and work with human resources in hiring and training new maintenance associates - Ensure associates work safely and wear PPE as required - Serve as member of the QIT and other PRIDE teams as required - Welding, plumbing, carpentry or electrical servicing - Fill out accident or first aid reports on maintenance employees injured - Notify/assign employees to work overtime - Lead safety awareness and education within the department - Follow waste disposal and recycling procedures Requirements: Competencies: · Create Strategic Plan · Make Effective Decisions · Drive Results · Drive Innovation · Build a Successful Team · Requirements: · 4 year degree or equivalent experience · Experience: · Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Work Shift
