Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Travel Agent with strong, hands-on experience using the Amadeus reservation system and recent experience coordinating European travel. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in international airfare, European destinations, hotels, rail transportation, transfers, tours, and customized itineraries.
This position requires someone who can confidently manage travel arrangements from initial consultation through final booking while providing excellent customer service and quickly resolving itinerary changes or travel-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Use Amadeus GDS to research availability, create reservations, book flights, and manage passenger itineraries.
- Coordinate domestic and international air travel, with a strong emphasis on European destinations.
- Build customized European itineraries, including multi-city and multi-country travel.
- Arrange hotels, rail transportation, airport transfers, rental vehicles, tours, excursions, and other travel services.
- Research routes, schedules, fares, and travel options to provide clients with competitive and practical recommendations.
- Assist travelers with international travel requirements, including passport, visa, entry, and destination information.
- Process ticketing, exchanges, cancellations, rebooking, and itinerary changes.
- Provide assistance when flights are delayed, canceled, or otherwise disrupted.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding pricing, schedules, confirmation details, restrictions, and cancellation policies.
- Maintain accurate client profiles, reservations, payment information, and travel documentation.
- Provide professional customer service before, during, and after travel.
Required Qualifications
- Recent hands-on Amadeus GDS experience is required.
- Recent experience booking and coordinating European travel is required.
- Strong knowledge of European destinations, airports, international airlines, rail systems, hotels, transfers, and common multi-city travel routes.
- Experience creating detailed international and European itineraries.
- Knowledge of international ticketing, fare rules, exchanges, cancellations, and rebooking procedures.
- Strong computer, research, organizational, and data-entry skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple travelers and reservations simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer-service skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with group or customized European travel.
- Knowledge of European rail systems and multi-country itineraries.
- Experience coordinating guided tours, cruises, excursions, and destination activities.
- Familiarity with travel insurance and international travel documentation.
- Previous experience working for a travel agency, tour operator, corporate travel department, or similar organization.
