The Senior Representative, Production Operations serves as the Blood Virus (BV) Product Subject Matter Expert within Beckman Coulter Ireland, Co. Clare, providing technical leadership for the manufacture and testing of BV products. The role leads validation and scale-up activities, technical investigations, continuous improvement initiatives, and training programmes, while supporting new product and process introductions to drive operational excellence, quality, and compliance.
This position reports to the Manager Production Operations and is part of the Manufacturing Operations Department located just outside Tulla in Lismeehan, O'Callaghan's Mill, Co. Clare and will based on-site.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Act as the Blood Virus (BV) Product Subject Matter Expert, supporting safe, compliant and efficient manufacturing operations.
Provide technical oversight and support for the manufacture and testing of BV products to ensure delivery of high-quality products that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Drive validation, process scale-up and continuous improvement projects to enhance operational performance.
Partner with Technical Operations to support new product and process introductions from concept through implementation.
Provide leadership for technical investigations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Develop and maintain training programmes, supporting capability building and cross-functional flexibility within the team.
Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve documentation and strengthen operational excellence across the department.
- Coach and support colleagues in the application of manufacturing processes, problem solving techniques and quality system requirements.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's degree (Level 8) with a minimum of 5 years' relevant industry experience, or Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years' relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated experience within a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device, diagnostics, biotechnology, pharmaceutical or life sciences.
Strong knowledge of quality systems, GMP requirements and experience supporting internal and external audits.
Technical expertise in Blood Virus and/or Immunoassay products, manufacturing processes or related technologies.
Experience leading technical investigations, validation activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions.
Proven ability to develop effective working relationships and support the training and development of others.
Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to work within a laboratory and manufacturing environment in accordance with site safety and quality requirements.
May require extended periods of standing, walking and performing hands-on production or testing activities.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all site environmental, health and safety procedures.
Ability to occasionally lift or move materials and equipment in line with site safety guidelines.
Ability to support manufacturing activities across multiple work areas as business needs require.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Blood Virus, Immunoassay or other in vitro diagnostic (IVD) manufacturing environments.
Technical leadership or project leadership within a production or operations setting.
New product introduction (NPI), process transfers or manufacturing scale-up projects.
Statistical analysis, process improvement methodologies or Lean manufacturing tools.
Training programme development and knowledge transfer within a regulated environment.
Supporting regulatory inspections and customer audits.
