Job Description

As the Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) for Core Banking, the incumbent is responsible for partnering closely with stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initiation, requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support. The primary objective is to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality core banking enhancements that fully comply with regulatory, governance, and organizational standards.

This role encompasses end-to-end technical delivery management, including requirements management, active involvement in solution design and development, oversight of testing activities, deployment planning, and production support readiness. The TDM is expected to maintain a holistic view of the delivery process, ensuring seamless integration across all stages and stakeholders.

Strong expertise in the core banking domain is essential, along with the ability to proactively identify risks, anticipate potential challenges, and develop innovative, out-of-the-box solutions to address uncertainties and ensure successful project outcomes. The role requires a forward-thinking mindset, sound technical judgment, and the ability to drive delivery excellence collaborating with various stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

Project delivery management

  • Plan and manage technical deliverables (including any system enhancements, non-functional requirements, IT security initiatives and platform upgrades), ensuring delivery of scope within allocated budget and timeline
  • Manage and coordinate across application, infrastructure, IT security and vendor teams to manage technical dependencies and ensure successful end-to-end delivery
  • Monitor, manage and escalate technical risks, issues and dependencies throughout project lifecycle in timely manner for mitigation
  • Provide regular status updates on technical delivery progress, key milestones, risks, and mitigation plans to project stakeholders
  • Report to Program and/or Project Manager for the strategic programs and ensure compliance with project governance requirements
  • Proactively engage and collaborate with stakeholders, take the lead to spearhead discussions and bring outstanding items to proper closure aligned with stakeholders.

Requirements management

  • Partner with Functional Business Analysts, System Analysts and subject matter experts, as well as business & operations stakeholders, to understand, analyze and validate functional, non-functional, technical and IT security requirements
  • Define and align the technical delivery approach with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with functional, technical, non-functional, infrastructure, architecture, and IT security requirements, including validation and verification approaches
  • Provide technical and system input during the requirements and specification phases, including impact assessments, effort estimations, and high-level delivery plans based on system complexity and sizing methodologies

Design and development

  • Collaborate with Domain Architects, Development Managers, Infrastructure Architects, and Security Architects to ensure solution designs comply with enterprise architecture principles, security standards, and control requirements
  • Partner with Development Managers to oversee application development activities and ensure deliverables are completed according to agreed scope, quality standards, and timelines
  • Ensure security-by-design principles are embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle and that project changes do not introduce security vulnerabilities

Test management

  • Partner with Test Manager to define, review, and approve testing strategies, approaches, plans, environments,
  • Ensure testing activities progress according to agreed milestones and support stakeholders in completing SIT, UAT, mock run, performance testing, load testing, stress testing, failover testing, endurance testing, and application security testing.
  • Work closely with the IT Security team to coordinate penetration testing and remediation activities in accordance with approved mitigation plans.

Implementation management

  • Develop and maintain technical implementation and deployment plans, including contingency measures, rollback procedures, operational readiness checks, and support arrangements
  • Coordinate implementation activities across application teams and align deployment plans with business, operations, infrastructure, security, and external technology partners
  • Lead and oversee production cutover activities, ensuring successful deployment, post-implementation verification, system stabilization, and adequate post-production support

Technical skills

  • Knowledge in core banking applications and domain in wholesale and/or retail banking industry
  • Knowledge in Silverlake’s core banking software suite is a bonus
  • Knowledge in IBM AS400 platform, RPG, CL programming

General

  • Bachelor’s degree in related Information Technology disciplines
  • Relevant Experience in Banking / Information Technology
  • Possess strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving and process design skills to translate analysis into solutions that meet business objectives
  • Curious person with strong problem solving & analytical skills
  • Having open mind set and always keen to learn beyond domains under charge so as to build up more holistic knowledge
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and inter-personal skills to manage technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units
  • Able to work independently and have a keen eye on details
  • Resourceful team player, who can work on multiple assignments, with minimal guidance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Results-oriented person with a focus on delivery
  • Good understanding and experience in of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Knowledge in Agile development methodology is a plus
