Reports To: Distribution Center Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

The Excab Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for assisting with the daily warehouse operations and providing appropriate coaching, counseling, direction and resolution to employees. They will work as a leader on special or on-going projects, help the Excab Warehouse Manager with work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards, procedures, and strategic directives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.  
• Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Occasionally team lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. 
• Frequently required to push/pull a ladder, ascend and/or descend ladder while holding packages. 
• Occasionally required to sit, climb and balance.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus. 

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for suggesting methods to continuously improve area operations, efficiency and service
• Direct and supervise shipping personnel
• Be available for less experienced employees by providing appropriate coaching, counseling, direction and resolution.
• Provide new hires a company tour and introduce them to the staff
• Pick, verify and package customer orders
• Assist management with daily operation of warehouse operations 
• Work as a member/leader of special or on-going projects that are important to area/process improvement. 
• Ensure new and current employees have appropriate training and other resources to perform their jobs efficiently
• Help management to establish work procedures and processes that support the company and departmental standards, procedures, and strategic directives
• Use appropriate judgment in upward communication to management regarding department or employee concerns

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Attention to detail 
• Must have the ability to lead, direct, and motivate people
• Must adhere to all safety and housekeeping policies and guidelines
• Must be able to work with other departments and be a team player
• Must be able to delegate work where needed
• Two years of product knowledge a plus
• Knowledge of key cutting concepts a plus
• Familiarity with ERP Systems (ideally P21) are a plus
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
• Strong Microsoft Office knowledge
