Q201603: Estimator (Cabinetry and Joinery)

We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in custom cabinetry and joinery to prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will understand cabinetry construction and manufacturing processes and be able to interpret drawings and specifications to determine materials, labour, hardware, and other project costs.

Salary Range: 30,000 - 40,000
Work Set-up Arrangement: Monday to Friday | 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM PHT

Responsibilities:

• Review architectural drawings, cabinetry plans, specifications, and project documentation.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for custom cabinetry and joinery projects.
• Perform material and hardware take-offs and calculate quantities required.
• Estimate labour, manufacturing, installation, delivery, and associated project costs.
• Review designs and drawings to identify potential construction or costing issues.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor pricing where required.
• Prepare accurate pricing schedules, quotations, and supporting documentation.
• Work closely with drafters, designers, project managers, suppliers, and production teams.
• Update estimates based on design changes, variations, and revised project requirements.
• Ensure estimates are commercially competitive while maintaining appropriate margins.
• Maintain organised records of estimates, pricing, supplier information, and project documentation.
• Assist with tender submissions and provide clarification on pricing and scope when required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the cabinetry, joinery, shopfitting, or fit-out industry.
• Strong understanding of custom cabinetry construction and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to accurately interpret architectural drawings, plans, specifications, and cabinetry details.
• Experience with material and hardware take-offs and project costing.
• Strong understanding of cabinetry materials, fittings, hardware, and installation requirements.
• Experience estimating residential and/or commercial cabinetry and joinery projects.
• Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
• Experience working with estimating or cabinetry software is an advantage.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Understanding of Australian cabinetry, joinery, and fit-out practices is highly desirable.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of estimates from review through to quotation.
